Gameweek 38: community score predictions

Our community score predictions panel take a look at the Gameweek 38 fixtures. When making FPL decisions many FPL managers mentally predict the outcome of matches and use this to target players.

Considering:

  • Who will win?
  • Will there be a clean sheet in this match?
  • How many goals can I see being scored?
  • How many players do I want to play in this game?

Our community score predictions panel share their predictions for the final matches of the season. They also consider what this might mean for our FPL plans.

Gameweek 37

.

The panellists correctly predicted the result correctly 22 times so far in Gameweek 37. Pilot Flame is the only player to correctly predict a scoreline so far this week in his prediction that Villa and Palace would play out a 1-1 draw.

The panel were also all correct in predicting a victory for Liverpool against Southampton, as well as Spurs against Burnley.

With three further matches to be played in Gameweek 37 a lot can still change. The additional points will be added at the end of Gameweek 38.

Leaderboard

To keep track on how our panel are doing we have awarded 3 points for a correctly predicted scoreline and 1 point for a correct outcome but with the wrong scoreline.

Key talking points

The panel are predicting 36 home wins, 16 aways wins and 18 draws this weekend. All of the panel believe Spurs will beat Norwich, Chelsea will beat Watford and Leicester will beat Southampton.

With the exception of FPL Rabbi all of the panel also believe that Man City will beat Vila. FPL Talking Points is the only panelist who thinks Wolves can get a point against Liverpool.

The panel are predicting 23 clean sheets this weekend.

FPL Shake n Bake

My tip for this week would be to leave the transfers as late as possible. With all 20 teams kicking off at the same time, we can wait for news and be on the ball to make changes.

One player I would like to get however, is my old favourite – Callum Wilson. He looked fantastic against Arsenal on Monday, and on another night could easily have had a hat-trick. With a favourable fixture at Burnley, he is worth a punt. Especially as there’s usually someone that gets a hat-trick on the last day of the season!

FPL Talking Points

Given that Spurs have the easiest fixture on paper away to an already-relegated and very poor Norwich side, there will be a lot of investment in Tottenham players this Gameweek.

However, while I do think they will win the match, the pressure of the occasion and having the Champions League place within reach will make this a tighter affair than we probably all expect it to be. My predictions see Chelsea having the most joy on the final day against a Watford team whose players may be unrecognizable to even some Hornets fans!

El Statto

It’s the last day of the season, anything could happen!

City and Liverpool still battling for the title should mean less rotation from them. I fancy Chelsea and Spurs to score a few against Watford and Norwich respectively and would be the fixtures to target this Gameweek.

Relegation battle could be a 2/3 way fight (depending on Everton result on Thursday) but I don’t think any of the sides will win on the final day.

My FPL advice target Watford and Norwich and Captain someone playing against them.
