What to expect from the Gameweek 38 fixtures

With Gameweek 37 underway it’s time to turn our attention to the final gameweek of the season – Gameweek 38. We take a look through what to expect from all of the Gameweek 38 fixtures.

All of the stats in this article include data up to and including Gameweek 36.

Gameweek 38 fixtures: Arsenal v Everton

There have been 59 previous meetings in the Premier League between Arsenal and Everton. Arsenal have won 34 of the fixtures, Everton 11 and there have been 13 draws.

Arsenal’s winning run came to end with defeat in the North London derby in Gameweek 36. Everton however, have now taken points in all three of their last three fixtures.

Everton won the reverse of this fixture 2-1 back in December.

Across these two teams Bukayo Saka is the top goal scorer with 11. Emile Smith-Rowe is second with 10 goals and Richarlison is third with eight. Alexandre Lacazette is top for assists across these two teams with seven. Saka is second with six and Gabriel Martinelli is third with five.

On average this season Arsenal create 1.03 chances per match. Compared to 0.8 for Everton. However Everton’s attacking threat has improved under Frank Lampard.

Arsenal have kept 13 clean sheets this season, in comparison to eight for Everton.

Gameweek 38: Brentford v Leeds

There has only been one previous meetings in the Premier League between Brentford and Leeds, the 2-2 draw back in December.

Leeds have now failed to win in any of their last four Premier League matches.

Across these two teams Ivan Toney is the top goal scorer with 12. Raphinha is second with ten and Jack Harrison is third with seven. Bryan Mbeumo is top for assists with seven, Toney is second with five and suspended Dan James is third with four.

On average this season Brentford create 1.31 chances per match, just more than the 1.14 that Leeds create on average.

Defensively Brentford have kept nine clean sheets this season, one more than the five Leeds have kept.

Gameweek 38 fixtures: Brighton v West Ham

There have been nine previous meetings in the Premier League between Brighton and West Ham. Brighton have won three matches and there have been six draws.

Defensively Brighton have kept 11 clean sheets this season, in comparison to eight for West Ham.

Gameweek 38: Burnley v Newcastle

There have been 11 matches between these two teams in the Premier League. Newcastle have won five, Burnley have won two and there have been four draws. The Magpies have won the last three matches between these two sides in the Premier League.

Newcastle were on a good run of form ahead of their last two matches against Liverpool and Man City. Burnley also lost their Gameweek 36 fixture.

Across these two teams Maxwel Cornet is the top scorer with eight. Callum Wilson is second with six and Allan Saint-Maximin is third with five. Saint-Maximin is top for assists this season with four. Josh Brownhill and injured Ryan Fraser are tied second with three each.

On average this season Burnley create 1.14 chances per match. Newcastle create on average 0.83 chances per match, however much of this is legacy from prior to Eddie Howe’s time in charge.

Defensively Burnley have kept nine clean sheets this season, in comparison to seven for Newcastle.

Gameweek 38: Chelsea v Watford

There have been 15 meetings in the Premier League between Chelsea and Watford. Chelsea have won 11 times, Watford twice, and there have been two draws.

The Chelsea have won all of the last five meetings between the two sides.

Watford ended their losing streak in Gameweek 36 in a 0-0 draw against Everton.

Across these two teams Mason Mount is the top scorer with 11 goals. Emmanuel Dennis is second with 10 and Romelu Lukaku is third with eight goals this season. Mount is also top for assists with 10, Reece James is second with seven and Dennis is third with six.

On average Chelsea create 1.83 chances per match. In contrast Watford create 1.22 chances on average.

Chelsea have kept 14 clean sheets, in comparison to four for Watford.

Gameweek 38: Crystal Palace v Man United

There have been 25 previous meetings in the Premier League between Palace and Man United. United have won 18 times, Palace just twice and there have been five draws.

The last five fixtures between these sides in the Premier League have seen United win twice, Palace win twice and there has been one draw.

Defensively Palace have kept 11 clean sheets, meanwhile Man United have kept eight.

Gameweek 38 fixtures: Leicester v Southampton

There have been 31 previous meetings in the Premier League between Leicester and Southampton. Leicester have won 12 times, Southampton eight and there have been 11 draws.

On average this season Southampton create 1.22 chances per match. Meanwhile Leicester have created 1.17.

Southampton have kept eight clean sheets this season. Leicester in comparison have kept seven.

Gameweek 38: Liverpool v Wolves

There have been 15 previous meetings in the Premier League between Liverpool and Wolves. Liverpool have won 13 of the matches, Wolves just one and there have been two draws.

Liverpool have won all of the last five meetings between these sides in the Premier League.

On average this season Liverpool create 2.58 chances per match, in comparison to 1.03 for Wolves.

Liverpool have kept 21 clean sheets, Wolves have kept 11.

Gameweek 38 fixtures: Man City v Aston Villa

There have been 43 previous meetings in the Premier League between Man City and Aston Villa. Man City have won 27 of these matches. Aston Villa have taken all three points in seven of the fixtures and there have been nine draws.

Man City have won all of the last five Premier League matches between the two sides.

Across these two teams Kevin De Bruyne top for goals scored with 15. Raheem Sterling is second with 13 and Riyad Mahrez is third with 11. Gabriel Jesus is top for assists with eight, followed by Joao Cancelo and De Bruyne who have seven each.

On average this season Man City create 2.33 chances per match, compared to 1.2 for Aston Villa.

Man City have kept 21 clean sheets this season. Aston Villa have kept 11.

Gameweek 38 fixtures: Norwich v Spurs

There have been 19 previous meetings in the Premier League between Norwich and Spurs. Tottenham have won 11 of the matches, Norwich three and there have been five draws.

The Lily Whites won the reverse of this fixture by three goals to nil back in December. Spurs have also won four of the last five matches between the clubs in the Premier League.

Across these two teams Son Heung-Min is the top goal scorer with 21 goals. Harry Kane is second with 15 and Teemu Pukki third with 10. Kane and Dejan Kulusevski are joint top for assists across these two teams with eight. Son is third with seven.

On average this season Spurs create 2.11 chances per match, in comparison to 0.75 for Norwich.

Spurs have kept 14 clean sheets, Norwich have kept just six.
