Gameweek 16 FPL community reactions

We take a look at some of the best Gameweek 16 community reactions from FPL Twitter as the round plays out. With both positive and negative reactions to some of the key events including FPL assets.

Reactions in the FPL Gameweek 16 community can help other FPL managers by highlighting things like player minutes, player form, team form and anything else that could have implications within our fantasy teams.

@FPLMarcin

Marcin highlighted one of the most important performances in the community this week. Erling Haaland (£12.2m) has become one of the most reliable assets in FPL this season. In fact, the striker is still the most owned and highest scoring player.

Haaland was the most captained player in Gameweek 16. Not only did the striker fail to return any significant points but he also picked up a yellow card. He picked up just one point in FPL, two for the many that captained him.

Fantasy Football Scout contributor Andy showed his frustration, like many, in regard to being an on an off Phil Foden (£8.3m) owner. Previous to Gameweek 16, the midfielder failed to start any of his previous three matches.

The lack of starts forced many owners to sell Phil Foden. However, to their frustration, Foden scored and picked two bonus points to take his tally to nine points. With games against Leeds and Everton after the World Cup, will those same sellers bring the Englishman back into their teams?

@FPLReaction

Fantasy Football Scout and Fantasy Football Community contributor @FPLReaction showed his despair for one of the most promising assets of the Gameweek. Crystal Palace midfielder Wilfried Zaha (£7.5m) picked up a huge haul of 12 points in his previous Gameweek.

Unfortunately, his previous form failed to continue into the current Gameweek. Zaha missed a penalty in his match against Nottingham Forest. His failure to score the penalty and a poor team performance overall led to Zaha picking up no points in Gameweek 16.

@FPL_Banger

The FPL content creator picked up on several big performances in Gameweek 16. One of those performances came from Brentford’s Ivan Toney (£7.4m). The striker was left out of the England squad heading to the World Cup but showed why he should have been selected.

Toney sits as the third highest scoring forward in the game. In Gameweek 16 he showed, once again, why he should be a constant consideration for FPL managers. His two goals and three bonus points meant he notched up an impressive 13 points.

@FPL_Penguin1

FPL content creator Calvin highlighted several great performances this week. One of those was Leicester’s James Maddison (£8.2m). The foxes continued their climb up the table after a 2-0 win in Gameweek 16. One of their main goal contributors this season has been Maddison.

Maddison has collected eight returns this season and is slowly becoming a reliable FPL asset. His goal against West Ham meant he picked up a cool six points before going off injured around the 24th minute. With great fixtures after the World Cup, non-owners could be looking to add him to their fantasy shortlists.
