Gameweek 2: community score predictions

Last modified date

Our community score predictions panel are back for the 2022/23 season. Here they take a look at the what they expect to happen in the Gameweek 2 fixtures. When making FPL decisions many FPL managers mentally predict the outcome of matches and use this to target players.

The community score predictions panel is back for another season. In these articles we will ask the panel to consider the questions that FPL managers ask themselves ahead of setting up their teams:

  • Who will win?
  • Will there be a clean sheet in this match?
  • How many goals can I see being scored?
  • How many players do I want to play in this game?

Our community score predictions panel share their predictions for Gameweek 2 and consider what this might mean for our FPL plans.

Gameweek 1

The panel predicted the outcome of the matches correct 29 times. They predicted the scoreline correctly a further nine times. FPL Shake n Bake has taken an early lead with 12 points, with reigning champion El Statto close behind with 11.

Key talking points

The panel are unanimous in their feelings that Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man City will win. With the exception of FPL Rabbi they also all believe that Chelsea v Spurs will be a draw. Rabbi is also the only members of the panel that thinks Forest will get a draw against West Ham, the rest are backing victory for the visitors.

The panel are predicting 23 clean sheets this week. They all, believe that Man City will keep a clean sheet, therefore they could be good for the defensive double up. The panel also believe that there will be a lot of goals in Gameweek 2. Between them they have predicted 193 goals will be scored. Man CIty are predicted to score the most goals with Liverpool a close second. The panel have all also predicted Arsenal will score at least two goals against Leicester. Therefore these are potentially attacking teams for FPL managers to target.

FPL Shake n Bake

All eyes are on Erling Haaland after last weeks emphatic performance. A home debut, against a newly promoted team looks to be an ideal fixture for him to continue his goalscoring exploits.

As a differential, I like the look of Patrick Bamford v Southampton. He looked dangerous against Wolves, as Leeds were very attacking. Meanwhile, Southampton looked vulnerable at the back against Spurs. At just 1.5% ownership, he could help you steal a march on those mini-league rivals

FBL Thinker

The Gameweek 2 fixtures to target for me are Man CIty v Bournemouth and Liverpool v Crystal Palace. I believe the best captaincy picks this weekend are Haaland and Salah, they will likely both have high effective ownership this weekend.
