The 24/25 Premier League Fixtures are OUT NOW!

@FPLReaction’ team reveal for FPL Gameweek 1

The new Premier League season is here so we look to the first round. We bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLReaction to give you his team reveal for FPL Gameweek 1.

As we approach any given deadline, managers will be scrambling for clarity on some of the biggest decisions in the game like transfers and captaincy. Taking a look at @FPLReaction’s team reveal for FPL Gameweek 1 could benefit other managers when making those decisions.

Team Reveal for Gameweek 1

Goalkeepers

  • Andre Onana (£5m) – Since joining the game I have stuck with Onana. I feel like I absolutely need Manchester United defensive coverage. Onana should also rack up bonus points and clean sheets. Even if I needed the £0.5m difference between him and a £4.5m goalkeeper, which I don’t, none of them are convincing.
  • Alphonse Areola (£4m) – I’m not convinced that Areola will beat Fabianski to first team football but I don’t think it really matters anyway. Matt Turner (£4m) looks set to join Nottingham Forest so I may just make the straight swap.

Defenders

  • Gabriel (£5m) – Arsenal have great early fixtures and I can’t see Gabriel leaving my team before the deadline. He’s got a great price-tag and solid attacking data for a centre-back.
  • Ben Chilwell (£5.5m) – Chelsea have looked much better in pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino. One player in particular that has caught my eye is Chilwell. He takes set pieces and had a shot in the box in nearly every match he featured in pre-season – he also scored and picked up an assist. The first game may be tough but long-term I want him.
  • Pervis Estupinan (£5m) – Brighton have three good fixtures to start the season and I really like the attacking threat that Estupinan offers with the potential of clean sheets. Eventually I will look to sell him for a Manchester City defender, although I would like to start with one anyway – this is something I need to work out before the deadline potentially.
  • George Baldock (£4m) and Issa Kabore (£4m) – Two very cheap wing-backs who have the potential to advance forward. Both players help enable the rest of the sqaud.

Midfielders

  • Marcus Rashford (£9m) – He is Manchester United’s main man, a major goal threat and was one of the best performers in the game last season. Rashford is pretty much a guarantee to be in my team come Gameweek 1.
  • Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m) – I’m not completely convinced on the Manchester United fixtures. However Bruno takes penalties and was one of the most creative players last season. He could be my sacrifice if I need more money pumped elsewhere.
  • Bukayo Saka (£8.5m) – For me, Saka is Arsenal’ standout attacker. He takes his sides penalties and was a constant goal threat last season inside the box. I have no doubt Saka will be in my team when Gameweek 1 arrives.
  • Gabriel Martinelli (£8m) – The Arsenal schedule looks very good and because of that I want to double up on their frontline. Martinelli was a very strong asset last campaign and I really don’t want to sacrifice him if I need the money elsewhere. I also prefer him to the likes of Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz who have shown next to little consistency in the past.
  • Bryan Mbeumo (£6.5m) – This was a difficult decision because there are several options at the £6.5m price bracket. I also really like Kaoru Mitoma and Eberechi Eze a lot. There could even be a possibility of me starting with two £6.5m midfielders but then I wouldn’t really know who to sacrifice.

Forwards

  • Erling Haaland (£14m) – One player who everyone has. I wouldn’t even think about going without Haaland.
  • Ollie Watkins (£8m) – I’m not 100% sure with Watkins but he does play in an improving side and has fairly good fixtures early on. He also takes his sides penalties which is a bonus. Watkins could change to Nicolas Jackson (£7m) either before the deadline or when the Chelsea fixtures improve.
  • Divin Mubama (£4.5m) – Literally in the side to enable funds elsewhere.

Additional notes

  • I’m not completely happy with my team and could look to raise money to upgrade a £4m defender to John Stones. The only issue with that is it would force me into benching another player like Chilwell – which I do not want to do.
  • I have considered Joao Pedro (£5.5m) from Brighton which would give me Brighton attacking coverage and allow me funds to upgrade a defender.
  • I really like the £6.5m midfielder bracket, if I could I would have more, maybe that’s something else that may change.
