FPL players on international duty

We take a look at FPL players on international duty. Whether that be goals or assists we catchup with some of the best performances from Premier League players whilst playing for their countries and what that could mean for FPL managers.

Monitoring FPL players on international duty can be really useful for fantasy managers. Players who hit form during the international break can be some of the most investable players at the start of the season for managers, so who put in a great performance for country?

Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland became the highest scoring player in FPL last season scoring 36 goals and registering eight assists. The Norwegian had a quiet end to his campaign in regards to attacking output but that changed during his European qualifiers. Haaland picked up an impressive three goals and one assist in just two matches. There is a strong argument that the Manchester City striker will be one of the first names in everyone’s first draft when the game launches.

Harry Kane

Tottenham’s Harry Kane had a sensational season last campaign putting away 30 goals and creating three assists. His total helped him to rank as the second highest scoring player in FPL 22/23. Kane helped England to two victories during the break whilst also collecting three goals and creating one assist. With all of the premium players available FPL managers have a tough decision to make ahead of the new season in regards to his inclusion.

Bukayo Saka

Buakyo Saka had a brilliant 22/23 campaign and that was telling in the fact he accumulated 14 goals and 11 assists, proving he has multiple threat. England scored a whopping 11 goals in their two European qualifiers and Saka netted three of them. All three of the wingers goals came in the same game which reflects his explosiveness. Arsenal start the season with fantastic fixtures so there is a very good chance Saka could heavily feature in early drafts.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

The England international players continue to pour in. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been one of the best FPL assets to own over the last several years and that may only continue. During his time for England over the break the defender played in a central midfield role. There he picked up an assist and a goal whilst also keeping two clean sheets. Although Liverpool have questionable early fixtures from a defensive point of view, there is a huge chance Trent makes his way into plenty of early drafts.

Bruno Fernandes

Portugal came into their international break knowing they had two tricky games against Iceland and Bosnia. However, they won both of their matches with the help of Bruno Fernandes who scored two goals and created two assists. Manchester United face Arsenal, Tottenham and Brighton in their first six matches so it could be interesting to see how many fantasy managers back him early on.
