FPL Gossip 29th March 2022: Updates on Dubravka and Raphinha

A look at the latest rumours and bits of gossip that the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) community is talking about.

Dubravka withdrawn from Slovakia squad

Newcastle’s first-choice goalkeeper is a popular pick amongst the leading Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame managers. However, he faces a race against time to make the Magpies’ trip to Tottenham after withdrawing from the Slovakia squad due to illness.

Initial misquotes led to fears of angina and heart problems but this has since been refuted by international boss Stefan Tarkovic.

Raphinha back in training but Bamford’s season is over

On Sunday, Leeds United provided an injury update on their official website. Although Raphinha is back in training after missing Gameweek 30 with Covid, it’s worse news for Patrick Bamford. The forward has ruptured his plantar fascia – a foot injury that does not require surgery but requires six weeks of recovery. This has effectively ended his season.

Additionally, Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper, Illan Meslier, Mateusz Klich and Diego Llorente should all be available to play against Southampton on Saturday.

Charles De Ketelaere linked with summer Leicester move

According to the Leicester Mercury, highly-rated Club Brugge forward Charles De Ketelaere could be joining Brendan Rodgers’ side this summer.

The 21-year-old has scored 17 times from 41 appearances this season and one goal from four Belgium caps. When asked about his future, the youngster didn’t close the door on such rumours.

“A transfer is not necessarily this summer, even though I feel ready for a new adventure. If it (a transfer) can be done now, why not? The Premier League is the highest you can go. That intensity too. In England, you become a better player. But I want to leave everything open. My girlfriend, Jozefien, must be able to continue her studies in dentistry in a good way.”
