FPL Fixtures: Community XI
The FPL Fixtures are finally here and the community have been busy with all the analysis for our fantasy teams.
The big FPL fixtures news was that we start with a Blank Gameweek 1, which is sure to cause plenty of headaches among all the planning.
I. Crellin
Ben Crellin was quick off the mark for the FPL fixtures release with his fixture ticker. There’s also his unique fixture difficulty ratings and a nod to the intricacies of the blank and double gameweeks going forward: this early blank is certainly difficult to navigate. Here are the fixtures for the 2020/21 Fantasy Premier League season:https://t.co/gV8m4MOVRF pic.twitter.com/eU0hbmjydr

II. Tipz
Using some excellent graphics from TedTalksFPL, FPL Tipz has put together a team thread sorted by best to worst fixtures, with key assets to consider from each side. It’s going to be a valuable planning tool ahead of the looming Gameweek 1 deadline.? FIXTURE RUN REVIEW ?

III. Goat
The initial reaction among the community to the FPL fixtures centred around forward options, which encourage a shift in popularity back to a more traditional 3-4-3 formation. Harry Kane, Timo Werner and Jamie Vardy have all caught the eye of FPL Goat.Tips after the fixture release ✔️
— FPL GOAT ?⚽ (@FPLGOAT7) August 20, 2020
1. Kane, Werner, Vardy all great striking options
2. Vinagre, Lamptey rotation could be handy
3. McCarthy looks like the GK to own
4. Aubameyang, Salah, Maddison, Son best midfield options
5. Wildcard in GW2-3 viable #FPL #FPLCommunity
IV. TV
In a mammoth Youtube video from FPL TV, the opening five fixtures are in the spotlight for the new season. For those sides with a favoured schedule, Brett considers three players from the respective squads who ought to be in the running for our fantasy lineups. The first 'Fixture Watch' episode for the new season is now live on YT.

VI. FPLkernow
Fplkernow takes a more long-term view of the fixtures by identifying when each side has their most favourable run of fixtures: this will be a valuable resource to keep referring to as time moves on. Fulham, Brighton and Wolves are in the running early on.Each team's longest set of consecutive fixtures without facing one of the traditional "big 6". pic.twitter.com/ac83Tc6fFR

VII. Andy
One significant piece of planning around fixtures each gameweek has to be captaincy. To help navigate this significant area of the game, FPL Andy looks at the premium assets you’ll want to be on board for the opening eight gameweeks. Options are particularly sparse for Gameweek 2.PREMIUM ASSETS!!
— FPL ?️ndy (@FPLBigAndy) August 24, 2020
Captains made up 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ of my points last year from 2️⃣2️⃣8️⃣5️⃣
That’s over 1/5 of your points!!! ?
So here’s a spreadsheet I created showing when them ‘premium assets’ will be ‘captainable’!

VIII. Ssia
With fixtures in tow, Ssia FPL has delved into the best budget defender rotations for the first half of the season. Having this flexibility in defence should save transfers further down the line, and there are five different combinations to consider.BEST BUDGET DEFENDER ROTATIONS [thread]
— SSIA FPL (@ssiaFPL) August 22, 2020
In this thread, I'll take you through 5 different combinations of teams whose fixtures up to GW15 rotate well with each other and suggest budget defenders from these teams.
Spreadsheet from @BenCrellin
IX. Bakar
Extending this strategy to the goalkeeper spot, and with news from Ben Dinnery that Tom Heaton won’t be available for the start of the season, Bakar has identified a cheap goalkeeper combination for the opening weeks. The only trouble here is that Orjan Nyland won’t be an option for long.McCarthy/Nyland for the opening 4 games gets you a fixture run of cry SHU ful WBA. As good as it gets at that price for a combined £8.5m. Easily the standout goalkeeping pairing to begin the season with #FPL https://t.co/NzBKvM5tx3

X. Lateriser
With many premium options missing for Gameweek 1, one takeaway strategy from the FPL fixtures being released comes from the big hitting midfielders. Lateriser has identified a likely move from Aubameyang to a Manchester City midfielder around Gameweek 3.Initial thoughts:
— Lateriser12 (@lateriser12) August 20, 2020
– Auba to big hitting city mid looks obvious
– Early wildcard could very well be a thing
– Lei/Chelsea/Spurs, fuck yeah (forwards won't be a thing? lol)
– Everton have a decent first 4 for an attacker
– Tricky start for pool, utd & city. Still top fixtures for..
XI. Planet
Finally, Planet FPL run through all the big reaction to the fixture release. As always, there’s a special look at Spurs and West Ham, plus some early thinking surrounding how we are going to navigate the Blank Gameweek 1 for Manchester United and Manchester City players.? "Fixture Planning"
