FPL Experts Ahead of Gameweek 21

We take a look at some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 21. With the new Gameweek approaching, we check out what some of the most elite managers have been talking about in the build up whether that be players to invest in, players to avoid and more.

Looking at what some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 21 are talking about could be highly beneficial to other managers. Whether they discuss expected minutes, potential transfer targets, chip strategy or other key factors, it can all help to provide clarity within our own teams.

@FplMode

Andy returns once again this week. The Fantasy Football Scout contributor, like many, had to make a tough call ahead of the Gameweek 20 deadline. Budget left over left by Erling Haaland meant that managers had more than enough good options to start but that caused some benching headaches.

One player who was placed on the bench by many in the community this week was Chelsea’ Cole Palmer. Chelsea faced Luton this week and the Hatters had been impressive at home recently. Regardless Chelsea won the game 3-2 and Palmer finished on a huge haul of 18 points after his two goals, one assist and three bonus.

Cole Palmer faces Fulham up next and then Liverpool where owners will likely make the same decision to bench the Chelsea star man again, or will they?

@FPL_Harry

Content creator Harry highlighted another interesting topic within the FPL community this week. Aston Villa have been a little inconsistent recently in terms of results but that hasn’t stopped them from scoring. Frontman and star striker Ollie Watkins has been exceptional this season but prior to his Gameweek 20 match failed to return points in four of his five matches.

Ollie Watkins was back amongst the returns in Gameweek 20 against Burnley. His side battled hard for their 3-2 victory and Watkins produced two assists to end his drought with an 8-point return.

As we can see Watkins has some fantastic fixtures ahead with the likes of Everton, an out of form Newcastle, Sheffield United, Manchester United and more. It is highly likely we see Watkins return to the very same teams that sold him.

@FPLReaction

Louis continued with Aston Villa. The win over Burnley didn’t just mean returns for Ollie Watkins but most of their popular attackers bagged points. Both Moussa Diaby and Leon Bailey started the game and scored to hit seven and eight points.

Another midfielder amongst the returns was Douglas Luiz. He scored a penalty but also managed to scoop up all three points which helped him to a 10-point finish.

@Hibbo_FPL

Hibbo also covered a very significant player return this week. Manchester City went face to face with Sheffield United this week. Because of this prior to the deadline many flocked to the Manchester City attackers.

One of the most popular attackers was of course striker Julian Alvarez. Although far from prolific in terms of output the Argentine picked up a solid seven points for his goal this week. Outscoring him however was midfielder Phil Foden who managed 12 points due to two assists and all three bonus.

Manchester City have some great fixtures ahead but there will be some concern that with the return of Erling Haaland Alvarez may have his minutes managed. The holders also have Kevin De Bruyne returning which could make things even more difficult to predict.

@FPLMate

One player who seems to be catching the eye of FPL managers is Alejandro Garnacho. Manchester United had a meeting with Nottingham Forest this week, a side who recently departed with their manager and one of the worst recent defences in the division. The Reds lost the game 2-1 but it didn’t stop their young star from picking up points.

Garnacho created the assist which helped him to four points. But, we have to remember how explosive he can be after securing a huge 14 points in Gameweek 19. At just £4.7m Garnacho could be one of the best enablers in the game.

In terms of fixtures, we can see that Garnacho has matches against Tottenham, Wolves and West Ham next. Not only could he help enable Erling Haaland back into our teams but he could also be a very good replacement for the likes of Son Heung Min and Mohamed Salah.
