Which defenders should we pick? Which strikers should be making our squads? Our expert could help bring clarity to the decisions you have to make in your own team to give you an edge over your competition with his expert team reveal for Sky Fantasy Gameweek 10.

Introduction

The Premier League returned with a bang following the October international break in GW9! In the following article, I will review the weekend just gone and look ahead to GW10 in Sky Fantasy Football. (No, I didn’t forget my transfers again…)

GW9 Review

As outlined in last week’s article, GW9 was a busy one for transfers. Overall, I made four moves. On Saturday I took Colwill and Beyer out for Tsimikas and Saliba, both returned points. Then, on Sunday I bought in Watkins (to captain) and Maddison. Despite, the initial frustration of forgetting my Sunday transfers back in GW8, it actually turned out for the best. Waiting a week allowed me to buy Watkins over Diaby as my Villa asset, due to the emergence of Tsimikas as a budget enabler.

Looking at the gameweek as a whole, it was a successful one. I moved up to 10.8K and scored 122 points. Pope, Son (C), Watkins (C), Salah and Maddison all scored double-figures.

GW10 Transfers and Captains

Looking ahead to this weekend, there are a few difficulty captaincy decisions to be made. Starting with the easy one, Saliba (SHU) on Saturday is locked in. On Sunday, my armband is currently on Mo Salah (NFO), although Haaland up against a leaky Man United is not far behind. Friday night is harder to call. In my view, Palace away could be a night for Maddison when a magic pass or long range strike could unlock a stingy Palace defence. However, looking at the ownership levels – Son is a safer bet.

Transfers wise, I’m tempted to move Maddison into Bowen on Sunday and may well do it for West Ham’s enticing fixture run. The only thing holding me back is my transfer count, currently at 37, it feels slightly on the low side.

Away from my team, at the time of writing, we are still waiting for the finalised Christmas schedule. However, if reports are to be believed we will have a single day on Christmas Eve (24th December) between Wolves and Chelsea. If this fixtures comes to fruition, Chelsea assets will have an effective 3-for-1 of Wolves (C) and Luton over every other club going into overhaul. Something to bear in mind!

Thanks for reading and good luck for the upcoming game week. Remember to set your captains and plan your transfers!
