Notes

  • At the time of writing, I’m on a healthy green arrow up to an OR of 175k, with only Wolves vs Chelsea left to play in GW18.
  • Despite an unexpected (?) eight-pointer at home to Manchester United in GW18, Alphonse Areola once again has to make do with a spot on the bench as West Ham visit Arsenal. Martin Dúbravka and Newcastle United face Nottingham Forest at home.
  • In defence, Gabriel and William Saliba once again make the starting XI. Charlie Taylor faces Liverpool and Jamaal Lascelles and Kostas Tsimikas are both potentially injured. With that in mind I will probably need to make a defensive transfer this week.
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold is under strong consideration should I decide to redistribute funds. He is second only to Pedro Porro for NPxGI over the last six matches and has returned in eight of the last nine gameweeks. However, given Brighton’s upcoming run of fixtures, the player that most interests me is Pervis Estupiñan. Although this may be a week or two too early to transfer him in.
  • In midfield, the only change to my starters will be to remove Moussa Diaby, even if it costs me a four-point hit. He’s been living on borrowed time for a while and disappointed once again from a Fantasy perspective against Sheffield United.
  • Richarlison remains the most likely replacement despite being a slight xMins risk in the short term. I also haven’t ruled out bringing Jarrod Bowen back in.
  • In terms of captaincy, Mohamed Salah away to Burnley feels like too good an opportunity to pass up.
  • I’m not planning any changes to my forward line. Ollie Watkins and Dominic Solanke are once again set to lead the line. Cameron Archer may yet come into my starting line-up should Cole Palmer pick up his fifth yellow card against Wolves.
  • Solanke is an outside bet for captaincy in GW19 (he’s currently my vice captain), although there’s likely a healthy dose of recency bias behind that thinking.
