Community Team Reveal Gameweek 30 – Toby Bryant

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 30, it’s the turn of Toby Bryant to tell us what is happening to his team.

Hi Toby and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 29 go?

Not very well. I was one of many who used the Free Hit chip to get around the blanks but, like many, didn’t get much from it. A Morgan Gibbs-White assist was the only return and Sergio Reguilon’s red card rubbed salt in the wounds. Making matters worse, I had Rodrigo Muniz and Vladimir Coufal on my bench.

What does your Wildcard defence look like?

The plan was always to Wildcard this week and it’s already activated. For me, defence is the area most up for discussion. Caoimhin Kelleher is a steal at that price and at the moment I’ve got Jordan Pickford too, although I’m finding that price bracket much of a muchness.

Gabriel is flagged as an injury concern but I’ve got some money tied up in him and his goal threat is fantastic. I’ve seen West Ham play in person a few times recently and been impressed by Coufal so he’s currently got the nod and it’s the same reasoning for Antonee Robinson. I fancy those two teams to finish the season strongly.

Malo Gusto and Jamaal Lascelles make up the final two spots but I have funds to upgrade either of them.

Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?

I think everyone Wildcarding this week is going to have similar midfields. Son Heung-min, Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer, like every man and their dog. I’ll have a cheap option in there that’s currently looking like Alejandro Garnacho, although I’ve been stung by him before.

It’s the fifth midfield spot where I’d look to take a punt. Bukayo Saka is there for now and I do think his ‘injury’ is fine but there’s a temptation to switch him out for Kai Havertz. The Arsenal striker is out of position in the game and I find that appealing but let’s see if I follow through on that.

Another pair I’m considering are Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus. Up front, Erling Haaland and Ollie Watkins are easy picks – owning the Man City forward is more out of fear. Additionally, I can’t look past the form of Rodrigo Muniz for the third spot.

Finally, what about captaincy?

Yet I don’t think I’ll be giving Haaland my armband, despite him usually being the default. If Muniz stays in my team, the trip to Sheffield United could see me opt for him. Brighton won’t be easy for Salah but Palmer at home to Burnley is another option.

Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!
