Community Team Reveal Gameweek 10 – FPL Rabbi
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 10, it’s the turn of FPL Rabbi to tell us what he is doing to his team.
Hi FPL Rabbi and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 9 go?
It was finally a breakthrough Gameweek for me, with 93 points and a massive green arrow taking me from 1.7m to just outside the million. Erling Haaland’s (£12.2m) captaincy was huge, just like the haul of new signing James Maddison (£8.1m).
What does your defence look like?
My defence isn’t looking great right now, to the point where I was almost on the brink of using a Wildcard. Kieran Trippier (£5.5m) keeps ticking along nicely but Ivan Perisic (£5.6m) isn’t delivering and Kyle Walker (£5.0m) being out long-term leaves me with either Ben White (£4.5m) or Neco Williams (£4.1m).
The latter has a better fixture but is in a terrible team. I’m still not looking to take a four-point hit, as a Wildcard is for Gameweek 13.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
Midfield and attack look much better. Son Heung-min (£11.7m) and Maddison came in and immediately hauled for me. Elsewhere, Gabriel Martinelli (£6.6m) and Luis Diaz (£8.1m) both assisted in Gameweek 9 for a minimal return while Pascal Gross (£5.9m) waited as the first sub. Up front, Haaland is doing Haaland things, Gabriel Jesus (£8.0m) has repaid the faith but Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.9m) is a doubt for Gameweek 10.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 10 and beyond?
My planned transfer is bringing in either Jarrod Bowen (£8.1m) or Wilfried Zaha (£7.3m) for Luis Diaz. I just can’t see a major upside in the Colombian when facing the best two teams in the league.
Bowen has finally broken his goal drought and has tasty fixtures ahead (as a Liverpool supporter, I include that match), we just have to see how West Ham’s European match on Thursday goes.
Zaha is another with good fixtures, I’m just not sure I trust him. Before Gameweek 12, both Jesus and Walker will make way for one-week punts as I dead-end before the Wildcard.
Finally, what about captaincy?
Captaincy is not a question right now, it’s Haaland until further notice. I’m just glad that I didn’t try to get cute by attempting a Maddison captaincy. He hauled but that 25.5-hour wait would have been brutal.
