Club World Cup Fantasy 2025: Salzburg Best Picks, Predicted Line-up and Team Overview

Club World Fantasy 2025 is here! Continuing with our team previews, we take a look at the Salzburg best picks, predicted line-up and team overview.
Knowing how a team could line-up and their best assets could be absolutely key for success in Club World Cup Fantasy.
Team Overview

Red Bull Salzburg qualified for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup not by winning a major European title, but through consistent performances in UEFA competitions over the past few years. UEFA was given 12 spots in the tournament, with four going to recent Champions League winners and the remaining eight awarded based on a four-year club ranking system.
Salzburg earned one of those remaining places by ranking high enough in UEFA’s coefficient standings, thanks to their regular appearances in the Champions League and strong domestic form. They secured the final available European spot, just ahead of some big-name clubs like Liverpool and Barcelona.
Salzburg won the Austrian Bundesliga during the 23/24 season, but they failed to follow up on that in the following campaign – only being able to secure third place and finishing eight points off the top spot. They also finished 34th in the 36-team Champions League league phase.
Recent form has also been mixed – having won three, lost two and drawn one of their previous six matches. They scored 12 goals, conceded 10 goals and kept just one clean sheet during that same period of matches.
Group and Fixtures
Salzburg will join up with Real Madrid C. F. (ESP), Al Hilal (KSA) and CF Pachuca (MEX) in Group H.

Their schedule is as follows:
- Matchday 1 – Pachuca
- Matchday 2 – Al-Hilal
- Matchday 3 – Real Madrid
Matchday 1 could be Salzburg’ best opportunity to pick up points against Pachuca. The results could go either way, so both sides will be keen to tip the balance.
Salzburg then go into Matchday 3 as slight underdogs. However, don’t rule out the Austrian side picking up a positive result against Al-Hilal.
Predicted line-up

Top Picks
Salzburg have two fixtures that they could reasonably keep clean sheets in. Based in that it could be worth looking into their defence.
The cheapest route into the defence could be centre-back Joane Gadou (€4.3m). The 18-year-old does however lack attacking threat, but does meet the under 5% ownership scouting bonus.
Another player who meets the scouting bonus is left-back Aleksa Terzic (€5.1m) who recently returned from injury. The Serbian has much more attacking threat than his defensive counter-parts – managing an assist in just under a quarter of his league matches last season.

In attack penalty taker and in-game forward Dorgeles Nene (€6.3m) catches the eye. As well as bagging 13 goals and four assists in the Austrian Bundesliga, he also finished the season in fantastic form – scoring five goals and registering one assist in his final five fixtures.
Set piece taker Oscar Gloukh (€6.1m). The 21-year-old talent has been his sides talisman for some time now, and he heads into the competition off the back of securing 10 goals and five assists in just 26 outings.
There we have it, our Salzburg Best Picks, Predicted Line-up and Team Overview. Will you be picking any of their players?
