Bundesliga: Top picks for Matchday 2

FBL Thinker is back with his top three picks by position ahead of Matchday 2 of the BUndesliga game. With a fantastic record in the game as well as finishing fourth last season FBL Thinker is an expert in the game.

First week of Bundesliga saw lots of goals with Bayern Freiburg looking in good form. We now move onto Matchday 2. In this article we look at the top three picks by position for this matchday

Forwards

Sadio Mané (FC Bayern München) £16.3M

Mane  scored his first goal in the Bundesliga last Matchday and looked sharp playing centrally in the Bayern attack. Mane had an expected goals of (XG) 1.7. In Matchday 2 he plays a Wolfsburg team who conceded two goals in their opening match. Another good fantasy score is expected for Mane

Jamal Musiala (FC Bayern München) £16.3M

From the fringes of the team to the starting XI Musical is now a part of Bayerns front three. It has been quite a transition. He was the player of the match against Eintracht scoring twice and creating chances. He is again expected to start and can again rack up a 20+ plus fantasy score

Patrik Schick (Bayer 04 Leverkusen) £15.1M

Schick had a poor match against Dortmund. He missed two big chances and failed to score. However, a home game against defensively struggling Augsburg is the perfect opportunity for Schick to bounce back.

MIDFIELDERS

Christopher Nkunku (RB Leipzig) £15M

Nkunku started the season from where he finished last season. Leading the Leipzig attack he had an excellent game against Stuttgart scoring a goal. He also took six shots and provided six key passes. He has a home game against Koln who have a poor record on the road which makes Nkunku an essential pick.

Jonas Hofmann (Borussia Mönchengladbach) £14M

Hofmann didn’t have  the best of games last time and wasn’t directly involved in any of Gladbach’s three goals. In Matchday 2 he faces A newly promoted Schalke. They conceded three goals in their last match which presents the perfect game for Hofmann. He should be able to capture his form and provide a good fantasy point haul.

Vincenzo Grifo (Sport-Club Freiburg) £13.4M

Grifo was the star man for Freiburg on the opening day with a goal and creating many chances in the game. His superb free kick showed the quality he has from set pieces. Though the game against Dortmund is expected to be tight, Grifo will be the man Frieburg would count on to open the Dortmund defence.

DEFENDER

Nico Schlotterbeck( Borussia Dortmund) £12M

Schlotterbeck had a good outing against Leverkusen and helped Dortmund keep a clean sheet. He won all five of his aerial duels in Matchday 1. Up against his former team he will be a crucial player to keep out the Freiburg attack.

Jonas Hector (FC Koln) £9.4M

Now classified as a defender, the Koln captain produced a magnificent display against Schalke. He looked strong defensively and was a chief threat down the left flank providing crosses for attackers. Though a match against Leipzig can be tough, Hector is once again expected to deliver a good fantasy score through his all round play.

Christopher Trimmel (Union Berlin)

Playing as right back For Union, Trimmel took up advanced positions and played in crosses for the attackers. He provided one assist and is also on all set pieces. This makes him an essential defenders to own.

GOALKEEPERS

Florian Müller (VFB Stuttgart) £7.3M

Muller was outstanding in the game against Leipzig. He single handedly kept Stuttgart in the game. He made 13 saves and got 13 fantasy points. With a shaky looking defence Muller is expected to face a lot  of shots and make a lot of saves against Bremen

Mark Flekken (Sport-Club Freiburg) £10.2M

Flekken was the best keeper of last season and began the first match continuing the form with a clean sheet. He will need to best at his best to keep out the Dortmund attack. Along with his clean sheet potential he will rack up the saves and offer good fantasy value.

Yann Sommer (Borussia Mönchengladbach) £8.9M

Sommer faces a Schalke team who only managed five shots against Koln, with only 2 on target. Gldabch appear to be the stronger team there is a good chance for Sommer to keep a clean sheet in this one.
