Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 24 Expert Picks and Team Reveal

Last modified date

In this article we focus on Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 24. To do that we bring in our regular contributor and expert Bundesliga Fantasy manager @FPLGunnersaurus. Jay provides three of the best picks in each outfield position and reveals his team and plans for the round ahead.

Looking ahead to Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 24 could be extremely important for managers. Following Jay’ Bundesliga Fantasy journey could be vital when it comes to making decisions around teams and players to invest in.

Defenders – Raphaël Guerreiro (14.2m / 2% TSB / FCB)

This one may come as a left field choice but let me explain myself. Bayern boss Tuchel may have ironically found his perfect formation in the 2-1 win over Leipzig. This came days after the news broke he would need to look for a new job in the summer.

Guerreiro, despite not returning well in the fantasy game, had one of his most influential performances in a Bayern shirt. It reminded me of his role at Dortmund last season where he would start at left-back but often find himself in a central midfield role in the attacking half. If he can put displays like that in against upcoming opponents Freiburg (A), Mainz (H) and Darmstadt (A) and add some attacking returns he could be the ultimate differential currently only owned by 2% of managers.

Mitchell Weiser (11.5m / 25% TSB / SVW)

Outside of Grimaldo and Frimpong you are probably looking at Bremen’s Weiser as the best defender this matchday available with a high ceiling for points. Bremen in the last ten games are third in the form table only behind leaders Leverkusen and second place Bayern. A huge part of that has been due Weiser returning to the form we saw last season.

Bremen travel to Sinsheim to face a Hoffenheim side who have not won at home in their last four. Away from home Weiser has been excelling lately picking up 49 points across his last three games on the road.

Edmond Tapsoba (8m / 3% TSB / B04)

A defender being recommended from Leverkusen that is not Grimaldo or Frimpong? Madness! After helping his country Burkina Faso reach the round of 16 at AFCON he has got straight back into the swing of things in the Bundesliga.

In his two starts since returning Tapsoba has picked up 29 points across those games, including a clean sheet and one assist. The league leaders travel to face a Köln side who have only scored nine goals at home this season, the second fewest in the league. You can check the box for a high clean sheet chance for Tapsoba here and for only 8m anything else is a bonus!

Alternatives – Raum (13.5m / 34% TSB / RBL) / Schlotterbeck (10.8m ON SALE / 8% TSB / BVB) / Vagnoman (8.3m ON SALE / 3%TSB / VFB).

Midfielders – Jamal Musiala (18.1m / 41% TSB / FCB)

Der Rekordmeister will be hugely buoyed by their last gasp MD23 victory over Leipzig and on MD24 travel to Freiburg. They currently have one of the league’s leakiest defences. The Black Forest club conceded a further two times away to Augsburg which also makes it 14 goals conceded in their last five games, four of which ended in defeat.

Musiala’s form has picked up again. The German has managed a goal and assist in his last two games. He will fancy his chances to add more attacking returns in a fixture that has been heavily dominated by Bayern in recent times.

Kevin Stöger (12m / 31% TSB / BOC)

The Austrian has been extremely impressive at home. In fact, it almost feels criminal not to have him in your fantasy squad when Bochum play at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion, regardless of the opposition. In the nine home games he has featured in he has returned double-digit scores on seven occasions. That includes his heroic 24-point MD22 haul against Bayern.

Bochum host a Leipzig side who have not won away from home since MD14. You have to go back further to MD6 to find the one and only time Bochum have tasted defeat on home soil meanwhile.

Nadiem Amiri (7.7m / 2% TSB / M05)

It has been a hot minute since a Mainz player was mentioned in this article. However, it comes with good reason this week. Amiri, on loan from Leverkusen, was instrumental last time out at the MEWA Arena. There he assisted the goal that secured Die Nullfünfer only their second win of the season.

Being on all set pieces helps his fantasy prospects (averaging 10 points per game for his new club). On MD24 Mainz host a Borussia Mönchengladbach side who are the only club expected to concede at least two goals per away game.

Alternatives – Simons (18.6m / 57% TSB / RBL) / Ngoumou (6.6m / 0% TSB / BMG) / Gruda (2m / 2% TSB / M05)

Forwards – Loïs Openda (18.6m / 27% TSB / RBL)

Prior to the MD23 2-1 defeat away to Bayern Munich the Belgian international striker was in red hot form. In fact he scored in five consecutive league games. On MD24 Die Roten Bullen travel to Bochum which on paper looks like a tough game. Perhaps surprisingly Bochum are in the bottom three for expected goals against at home. Unsurprisingly Leipzig sit in the top three for expected goals away.

If you are a stats person the aforementioned information will tell you that the home side are expected to concede plenty of chances of which Openda could capitalise upon.

Omar Marmoush (12.6m / 7% TSB / SGE)

Since returning from AFCON action the Egyptian forward has scored in each of his last three Bundesliga outings. He has also now registered a total of 15 attacking returns so far this season. Frankfurt’s problems are at the other end of the pitch and not with their ability to score goals.

They travel to Heidenheim on MD24 who have only been beaten once at home since October 22nd. But, they also sit in the top five for expected goals against at home. I predict goals for both sides and with that will come chances for Marmoush to add to his 10 goals season tally. He could be a brilliant addition to your Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 24 teams.

Ermedin Demirović (12.6m / 5% TSB / FCA)

Demirović, as I have said before, is quietly going about his business having a great season with 12 goals and nine assists so far. MD24 opponents Darmstadt actually concede more per game then their expected goals against record suggests they should – 2.26 goals per game versus a 1.67xGA.

If ever there was a week to target a differential striker with low ownership this is it against the leakiest defence in the Bundesliga.

Alternatives – Sancho (14.9m / 2% TSB / BVB) / Beier (8.3m / 1% TSB / TSG) / Jordan (8.2m ON SALE / 0% TSB / BMG)
