Best projected points for FPL Gameweek 9

The new round of fantasy football is approaching so we take a look at the players with the best projected points for FPL Gameweek 9. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can pick out assets with the most potential for the fixtures ahead.

As we approach the new round fantasy managers are looking for the best players to include in their squads. Because of this looking at the projected points for FPL Gameweek 9 can help bring clarity to some of your decisions.

Projected points for Gameweek 9

  • Erling Haaland – The Norwegian ranks at the top of the list this week with 7.52 points. Although going through a ‘rough patch’ Haaland comes up against a Brighton side that have failed to keep a single clean sheet so far this season.
  • Mohamed Salah – The Liverpool midfielder sits second best this week with 6.53 points. The Reds have a match against neighbours Everton next up and it could be a great chance for their Egyptian to continue his fantastic form.
  • Son Heung-min – Tottenham will be hoping for a more comfortable score line this week after their 1-0 victory against Luton in the last round. They face Fulham in Gameweek 9 and their main man Son ranks third best for points this week with 5.58.
  • Kieran Trippier – Newcastle come up against a Crystal Palace side who have recently lost key attackers due to injury. This could play into the hands of full-back Trippier who has managed four returns in a row. Trippier looks set for hit 5.56 points this week.
  • Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United have been frustrating this season due to their inconsistency. The Reds have a good chance to claim another win this week against Sheffield United. Bruno Fernandes could be set for a good return this week (5.44 points) which would repay some faith to his owners.

Who else is set to return?

  • Marcus Rashford – Manchester United come up against the worst defence in the league next so the success continues. Rashford’ minutes look questionable after coming off before the 70 minute mark in the last two but either way he sits sixth on the list with 5.30 points.
  • Bryan Mbeumo – Both him and his side have been frustrating for FPL managers as of late. The Bees are struggling for results and they have a match against Burnley next. Burnley have struggled defensively all season which could be the reason Mbeumo makes the list with 5.27 points.
  • James Maddison – Maddison is the second Tottenham player to make it into the top 10 this week. The midfielder has been fantastic this season and one of the most consistent assets in the game. That looks set to continue in the round ahead against Fulham (5.14 points).
  • Ollie Watkins – The Aston Villa striker sits as the highest scoring player in FPL so far which reflects his consistency. He faces a West Ham side who are amongst the worst teams in the league for shots in the box conceded. Watkins looks set to hit 5.13 points this week.
  • Taiwo Awoniyi – Nottingham Forest could have a really good week in Gameweek 9. They have a fixture against newly promoted side Luton up next. The Hatters have lost six of their first eight matches this season. This indicates Awoniyi could have a successful round (4.94).
