Best players for Gameweek 38

We take a look at some of the best players for Gameweek 38 based on their records against their upcoming opponents. Using previous head-to-head records and underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout members area to help us pick out some great FPL picks for the round ahead.

Picking out the best players for Gameweek 38 could be helpful in making both transfer and captaincy decisions. The more information FPL managers have the better our decisions tend to be in terms of having successful assets in our fantasy teams.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin v Bournemouth

Everton have struggled all season to find consistency. The Toffees poor form has seen them battling for relegation. However, they could have a good opportunity to win in the next round as they face one of the worst defences in the league this season in Bournemouth.

One player who could have great potential, if fit, is Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.9m). Prior to this season, the striker has maintained a good record against promoted sides. As we can see from the graphic below, Calvert-Lewin has banked a returnn in half of his last eight matches against them.

Harry Kane v Leeds

Its has been a disappointing campaign for Tottenham as they are destined to finish outside of the top four. They have a great chance, however, to end on the season on a high with a game against relegation battling Leeds.

One player who could help sink Leeds is Harry Kane (£11.4m). The penalty taker sits as the second highest scoring player in FPL this season. In terms of his record against Leeds, its good. In the four matches he played against his upcoming opponents prior to this season he collected two double-digit returns.

Son Heung-min

Leeds have been in awful defensive form as of late. In fact, in their last 10 matches they have conceded two or more goals in eight of their games. The Leeds defence is there to target for FPL managers so adding to their Spurs ownership could be very beneficial.

Son Heung-min (£11.5m) is a far-cry from his previous season form where he shared the golden boot with Mohamed Salah but his record against Leeds is very good. In the four head-to-heads he has played Son has picked up a return in three of them. His 31 points consist of three goals and one assist.

Bruno Fernandes v Fulham

Manchester United will be hoping to secure a top four finish in their final game of the season. The Reds come up against a Fulham side that rank as one of the worst teams in the league for big chances conceded this season.

Bruno Fernandes (£9.5m) could be the player to turn to. The Portuguese midfielder has a very impressive record against promoted sides prior to this season. As we can see, in the 15 matches Fernandes has faced a promoted side he has returned in eight of them.

Mohamed Salah v Southampton

Liverpool look set to miss out on Champions League football this season. Although that is the case the Reds have been on a great run of scoring form, scoring two or more goals in six of their last 10 Premier League matches.

The standout Liverpool attacker is Mohamed Salah (£13.1m). As we can see, the Egyptian has a fantastic record against Southampton prior to this campaign. In the nine games Salah has played against the Saints, he has bagged a return in seven of them.
