Gabriel Martinelli v Southampton
League leaders Arsenal have been maintaining some of the best attacking data all season. They have a great chance to extend that with a game against Southampton next. The Saints are in a relegation battle which highlights their poor campaign.
One player who could do well this week is Gabriel Martinelli (£6.8m). We can see below that prior to this season Martinelli has returned in two of his three games against Southampton. The Brazilian has also banked six returns in seven of his last matches highlighting his top form.
Patrick Bamford v Fulham
Leeds are also in a relegation battle. However they face Fulham next who have lost their last five matches on the bounce in all competitions (at the time of writing). Because of this Leeds could have the potential to score goals.
Patrick Bamford (£7.1m) could be the player to help with that. The striker had a very good record against promoted teams prior to this season. We can see that in the seven games he has played against them, he has bagged a return in four of them. Interestingly all four of his returns have come in his last four matches. His points consist of two double-digit hauls, three goals and five assists.
Mohamed Salah v Nottingham Forest
Liverpool have a fixture against Nottingham Forrest in Gameweek 32. One of the most popular players going into the Gameweek is Mohamed Salah (£12.8m). The Egyptian has managed four returns in his last six matches including a huge 21-point haul.
His owners could be in for a big return this week. We can see below he has a good record against promoted sides. In fact in the 23 games against them prior to this season Salah managed a cool 15 returns. His points include 13 goals and nine assists. This totals to 22 goal contributions in 23 games.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Staying with Liverpool and their success against promoted sides we head into their defence. Although inconsistent the Reds rank amongst the best teams in the league this campaign for clean sheets kept. With a game against Nottingham Forest next up, it could be time to add to that.
Below we can see that Trent Alexander-Arnold has had an excellent run against promoted teams prior to this season. In the 19 matches he has played against them he has collected an impressive 13 returns. His points consist of eight assists and nine clean sheets.
Harry Kane v Newcastle
Newcastle have shown to be one of the best defensive units in the league this season. However prior to this campaign that was not the case. That can be reflected in one of the most consistent assets in the game, Harry Kane’s (£11.7m) record.
The Tottenham striker and penalty taker, prior to this season, has had a great record against Newcastle. In the eight matches in the graphic below Kane has picked up a return in six of them. What is even more interesting is that of those returns he bagged three double-digit hauls, all coming in the last five games against Newcastle.
