Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26 Expert Picks and Team Reveal
We look ahead to Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26. We bring in our regular contributor and Bundesliga Fantasy expert @FPLGunnersaurus as he reveals his team and plans for the new round. He also shares three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards to buy this week.
Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26 is here so getting ready for the new round could be crucial. Our top picks and expert team reveal could be hugely significant and massive contributing factors in the decisions we have to make in our own teams this week.
Note: We have an international break coming up after MD26 fantasy managers! That means prior to MD27 you will all have unlimited transfers for the final time this season. With that said use your moves wisely this week to target MD26 fixtures only.
Defenders – Jeremie Frimpong (19.4m / 24% TSB / B04)
The flying Dutchmen’s ownership plummeted last matchday as he was suspended for the home win against Wolfsburg. Sure to be thrown back into the fold immediately bring him back in ASAP and do not miss out on more potential attacking returns from a defender with eight goals and six assists to his name so far this campaign.
Robin Gosens (12m / 3% TSB / FCU)
In his last home fixture Gosens both scored and assisted in a 2-2 draw against Heidenheim, raking in 16 points in Bundesliga Fantasy. Essentially playing as an out of position forward he has an edge over most other defenders in the fantasy game. A home match on MD26 against Werder Bremen is a winnable fixture.
Josha Vagnoman (9.8m / 6% TSB / VFB)
With both Mittelstädt and Vagnoman bombing down the wings it is no wonder that Stuttgart are in such hot form. Vagnoman has returned 13 points in back-to-back games and has a goal to his name across those fixtures where he has largely been deployed in a role further forward. Mittelstädt may be cheaper but perhaps Vagnoman just edges it on a route to attacking points.
- Alternatives – Guerreiro (14.1m / 5% TSB / FCB) / Weiser (12.1m / 22% TSB / SVW) / Bernardo (4.6m / 8% TSB / BOC)
Midfielders – Jamal Musiala (18.9m / 54% TSB / FCB)
Bambi is by far the standout candidate for the midfield star role this matchday. With 73 point across his last four games, courtesy of three goals and three assists, Musiala is a must own asset away to a bottom of table Darmstadt side who have lost 9/13 home games this season and have only won once on home turf.
Dani Olmo (14.2m / 16% TSB / RBL)
The Spaniard was rested last matchday following Leipzig’s Champions League exit so by the law of probability he should start on MD26 away to Köln. In his last game against Bochum he started to look back to his best with a sublime goal and a 13 points fantasy return. Leipzig are up first in the Friday night fixture so keep your eyes peeled for team sheets ahead of the fantasy deadline.
Leon Goretzka (13.8m / 2% TSB / FCB)
Goretzka loves playing against Mainz. He returned a second double-digit haul against them this season with two goals and two assists and now comes up against another bottom three club in Darmstadt this matchday. He is a wildcard pick for sure but as seen last matchday he could be an explosive one if Bayern romp to another demolition job.
- Alternatives – Führich (13m / 42% TSB / VFB) / Beste (10.1m / 26% TSB / HDH) / Amiri (8.3m / 1% TSB / M05)
Forwards – Leroy Sané (19.3m / 10% TSB / FCB)
Sané has not scored a Bundesliga goal since MD9 but do not let that put you off him. In the reverse fixture against MD26 opponents Darmstadt, which coincidentally was that MD9 affair, Sané scored twice in a 26 points fantasy haul. Going with only Kane up front from Bayern could be naïve given Darmstadt leak goals for fun.
Serhou Guirassy (15.7m / 61% TSB / VFB)
With not one but two first choice centre backs suspended for Stuttgart’s opponents Hoffenheim the Guinean goal machine will look to score for a third game running in the Saturday evening kick-off. Hoffenheim are also third worst overall for expected goals against overall at 1.7xGA.
Phillip Tietz (8.6m ON SALE / 1% / FCA)
Team mate Demirović might be having a stellar season for Ausburg but Tietz, the summer signing from Darmstadt, is not doing too bad either. With seven goals for the season so far his side travel to a Wolfsburg side who have conceded twice in each of their last three games.
- Alternatives – Openda (18.9m / 41% TSB / RBL) / Demirović (13m / 16% TSB / FCA) / Beier (8.7m / 5% TSB / TSG)
