FPL: Best Budget Players for Gameweek 24

Using Fantasy Football Scout‘s fixture ticker and underlying stats, here are some of the best FPL budget players for Gameweek 24.

Cheap options are extremely useful for FPL managers, as they enable the more expensive names to be squeezed in.

FIXTURES

Below are the Gameweek 24 fixtures, sorted by perceived difficulty where the top teams have nicer-looking outings.

LUTON TOWN

One team in great form is Luton, with three wins and two draws from their last half-dozen matches. By combining their high number of recent goals with Sheffield United (h) and Double Gameweek 25, FPL managers may now actually be considering investment.

The Hatters have a few cheap gems, like the rejuvenated Ross Barkley (£4.9m). As mentioned in this week’s differentials article, he’s delivered three goals and four assists in his latest nine games. Only six midfielders have taken more shots (25) since Gameweek 14.

Bargain forward Elijah Adebayo (£4.9m) can add squad depth whilst allowing funds to be allocated elsewhere. His Gameweek 22 hat-trick versus Brighton is part of seven goals from eight matches.

Several were set up by left wing-back Alfie Doughty (£4.6m), who is now on a magical six-game streak of returns. He’s had the second-most crosses (175) throughout the league, with 47 coming in the most recent four outings.

SHEFFIELD UNITED

Yet, as shown in the reverse meeting of Gameweek 19, Luton are still conceding plenty of goals. Both these sides are joint-worst for allowing big chances (73), which could allow Ben Brereton Diaz (£5.0m) to sneak in and score.

The loanee only arrived in January but netted in his first two Premier League matches. Although quiet in the 5-0 defeat to Aston Villa, he has the quality to quickly resume his goal-scoring ways.

Fellow midfielder James McAtee (£4.4m) made the scoresheet in two of his last six starts.

FULHAM

An even more recent loan signing is Fulham’s Armando Broja (£4.9m), borrowed from neighbours Chelsea. He made his debut as a substitute last week at Burnley but it was even cheaper forward Rodrigo Muniz (£4.4m) who put them 2-0 up. Perhaps the latter keeps his place when facing Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Willian (£5.3m) is a regular goal threat and Andreas Pereira (£5.3m) is one of this season’s best playmakers. On seven assists, he’s ranked seventh for both crosses (129) and chances created (49).
