Fantasy Premier League: Best differentials for Gameweek 24

Using Fantasy Football Scout‘s fixture ticker and underlying stats, here are some of the best FPL differentials for Gameweek 24.

By definition, differentials are barely-owned players that – if successful – can quickly fire a team far up the rankings and mini-leagues. They can be really useful for FPL managers.

Ross Barkley (£4.9m, 0.6% ownership)

Gameweek 24 differentials

Before Luton take part in Double Gameweek 25, they’ll be at home to Sheffield United. Rob Edwards’ side has just scored four times in consecutive matches and a large part of that is because of the rejuvenated Barkley.

Three goals and four assists took place over his last nine outings, peaking with Saturday’s double-digit haul at Newcastle. Furthermore, only half a dozen midfielders have had more shots (25) since Gameweek 14, often doing so from set pieces.

You’d expect the Hatters’ regular goals to continue against these last-placed Blades. With a cheap Barkley, managers get the added bonus of unlocking funds to buy premiums elsewhere.

Luis Diaz (£7.4m, 7.6% ownership)

Gameweek 24 differentials

One of Gameweek 24’s standout fixtures involves another side set to then feature twice in Gameweek 25 – Liverpool. They’ll be hosting Burnley at Anfield fresh off their first league defeat since September and we back Luis Diaz to bring in returns.

After all, he assisted at Arsenal after getting one versus Chelsea in Gameweek 22, alongside a goal. He even set up Diogo Jota‘s (£8.1m) late goal in Boxing Day’s reverse clash at Turf Moor.

With Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) likely still absent, the Colombian’s place in the starting line-up should be more secure. By featuring in the team with most attempts (432) and expected goals (xG, 49.75) so far, the stage is set for Diaz to shine.

Taiwo Awoniyi (£6.3m, 1.4% ownership)

Meanwhile, Newcastle’s previously watertight defence has fallen apart over recent months. It’s now the opposite. They’ve conceded 15 goals in their latest five matches, starting with a shock 3-1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.

With that day’s hat-trick hero, Chris Wood (£4.9m), ruled out for two months with a hamstring injury, perhaps it’s Awoniyi’s turn to feast on Eddie Howe’s outfit.

He’s only just back from a groin problem, scoring in his return cameo against Arsenal. The Nigerian ended last season’s with six goals in the final four matches, continuing over with a return in each of 2023/24’s first five.
