Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 8

Italian football is back for another round which means the fantasy football game is too! Get ready as we take a look at a Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 8 provided by regular @FplRossoneriHe also shares his general thoughts around captaincy.

Checking out a Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 8 can be extremely beneficial for other fantasy managers. Twitter is full of some of the most experienced fantasy managers around so catching up with their plans could help bring clarity within our own teams.

Introduction

Welcome to my Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 8. Here I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW. I played my Wildcard in Round 6 so I was in a relatively good spot in GW7. However because of several rumours I ended up benching my Inter players which cost me a lot as I eventually lost 23 points from Lautaro on the bench.

The Lautaro points loss is a bitter pill to swallow as I ended Round 7 with 89 points with the average GW score being 87. Players like Montipo, Lukaku, Theo, Frendrup and Di Lorenzo all scored good points with only Bonoventura and to a lesser extent Chiesa being a bit of a disappointment in the GW. I saved the free transfer in GW7 so I go into GW8 with two free transfers and that was always the plan.

Round 8 team reveal (subject to change)

Goalkeeper

  • Lorenzo Montipo (€4.6m) – One of the standout goalkeepers so far in Serie A this season. Lorenzo Montipo scored 10 points yet again in GW7. He now has three clean sheets in seven games. He is also third on the list of goalkeepers with the most points just behind Yann Sommer and Skorupski. In Round 8 Verona face Frosinone and Montipo will start again in goal for me in hopes of yet another decent points haul.

Defenders

  • Federico Dimarco (€6m) – He has one goal and three assists in seven rounds and he looks set to continue his rich vein of form. Inter play Bologna in GW8 and it looks like a great fixture for Dimarco on paper.
  • Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.4m) – It feels good to have the most expensive defender in the game on my team at some point. Di Lorenzo already has one goal and two assists in seven Rounds and if Napoli have to turn the tide in terms of form, he is going to play a big role. Napoli play Fiorentina at home in GW8 and it could be another game where Di Lorenzo ends up getting a goal contribution.
  • Danilo (€6.4m) – Mr. Serie A Fantasy comes back into my team for this GW where Juventus face their bitter rivals Torino in another edition of “Derby Della Molle”. This game tends to be very close and it could easily end up being a 0-0 draw which could bode well for the Juventus captain in terms of Serie A Fantasy points.
  • Luca Caldirola (€4.6m) – I have taken the decision to sacrifice Theo Hernandez this GW given the tough fixtures Milan have coming up. I also need some funds for another transfer, Caldirola comes into the team after a great 14-point haul for Monza. Monza will play Salernitana at home in GW8 and I think that is a good fixture for them to keep yet another clean sheet.

Midfielders

  • Dominico Berardi (€10.4m) – And just like that I finally have Berardi in my team. Berardi has four goals and one assist in just five starts and looks set to continue his recent good form when Sassuolo battle Lecce in GW8. He is currently tied for second place with Chiesa on 53 points for the most points for a midfielder in Serie A Fantasy just behind Rafael Leao.
  • Cyril Ngonge (€4.6m) – I will be playing two cheap enablers this GW and one of them is Ngonge. He has had a decent start to his life at Hellas Verona with two goals in seven games playing an advanced CAM role. Verona plays Frosinone and I do expect Cyril to do well in that game.
  • Andrea Colpani (€4.8m) – My second cheap enabler is Colpani and I personally think he is one of the best budget enablers in Serie A Fantasy this season. At just 4.8m price he already has three in seven starts in a good Monza team and I expect him to carry on with his form in the coming GWs.

Forwards

  • Romelu Lukaku (€9m) – I captained Lukaku in the end in GW7 and luckily he didn’t disappoint. It looks like his partnership with Dybala is slowly starting to blossom which is good news for Mourinho and all the Roma fans who badly need their team to keep a string of good results. Roma play bottom-of-the-table Cagliari who still haven’t even won a single game this season yet.
  • Lautaro Martinez (€11m) – Lautaro Martinez absolutely punished non-owners and managers including myself who benched him. He ended up getting four goals as a substitute finishing the GW with a crazy score of 23 points. He will play Bologna at home in GW8 and he should definitely be in your captaincy discussion.
  • Victor Osimhen (€12M) – Osimhen brushed all the antics aside and scored in the last GW for Napoli and I think he looks slowly to be getting back his form from last season. Fiorentina will be visiting Napoli and given that they play late on Thursday in the Europa Conference League, Osimhen has a great fixture at home to get some goals and help Napoli get the win in GW8.

Captaincy

  • At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Lautaro for reasons I have mentioned above. Dominico Berardi and Victor Osimhen are also in the running for captaincy.

As per usual, I will try and let everyone know on Twitter before the deadline so make sure you are following me on there @FPLRossoneriNick. That’s it for my GW8 Team reveal, See you in GW9 after the international break. Till then best of luck for GW8 in Serie A Fantasy, may all your arrows be green.
