Community Team Reveal Gameweek 4 – Marc Jobling
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 4, it’s the turn of Marc Jobling to tell us what is happening to his team.
Hi Marc and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 3 go?
I traditionally drop in Gameweek 3 and am sad enough to keep a spreadsheet to notice such things but this time it was 54 points and a rise up to 156k. At this stage, that’s a superb rank so I don’t want to complain.
However, I had Destiny Udogie’s 12-point haul stuck on the bench. If I hadn’t sold Gabriel, his absence would’ve allowed a Udogie autosub to take place, as opposed to the first two Gameweeks of ownership.
Buying Nicolas Jackson for Ollie Watkins felt like an instant regret but the Chelsea forward scored in the second half. He narrowly beat Watkins 7-5, so that’s okay. Elsewhere, it was great to see Bruno Fernandes finally bring the goods with his own 12 points.
What does your defence look like?
My other Gameweek 3 transfer brought in Ruben Dias for Gabriel and, of course, he swiftly conceded to Sheffield United. It’s a strong unit on paper, though, to the point where I have a benching headache.
Surely I can’t bench Udogie once again. But Pervis Estupinan is so highly owned and I benched him for last season’s Double Gameweek 36, where he bagged 17 points versus Arsenal.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
I’m pleased to have chosen the non-Salah route, as now there is money and freedom to do almost anything. Kaoru Mitoma probably makes way, I’m just undecided on whether it’s for Raheem Sterling or James Maddison.
Over the years, I’ve always been a Sterling kind of guy. I’m just not sure I want a third Chelsea player, even though his run of good fixtures lasts longer than Maddison’s. Also, buying someone AFTER their 19-point return feels wrong.
I’ll stick with Bukayo Saka and the double Man United midfield, whilst there are so few forwards of interest. Apart from Jackson, Watkins and Erling Haaland, I genuinely don’t think I’m interested in anyone. Maybe Taiwo Awoniyi but that’s it.
Cameron Archer may start at home to Everton, which is never a bad thing. Not sure it’s good enough to start ahead of the others, mind.
Finally, what about captaincy?
Well it has to be Haaland, really. Unless I’m actively trying to do badly, which I’m not.
