Gameweek 10 best wildcard

Looking at the Gameweek 10 best wildcard team. Using the Fantasy Football Scout season ticker, we can see which teams have the best run of fixtures. This can then aid FPL managers in picking out some of the best assets for the run ahead.

The wildcard gives managers the opportunity to change their entire team for any reason. FPL have given the community two wildcards to use in each half of the season. In addition, unlike any other season, FPL have also provided managers with unlimited transfers during the World Cup.

Fixture ticker

The best wildcard team

Goalkeepers

As we can see, using the fixture ticker £4.1m Danny Ward and £4.5m Jordan Pickford rotate well. An example of this is when Pickford plays against Man United and Tottenham, Ward plays against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. The rotation between both goalkeepers could be beneficial to those using the Wildcard this week.

Defenders

Bournemouth rank second on the fixture ticker. Combined with Jordan Zemura’s (£4.4m) cheap price-tag and having the squad depth to bench him, the Bournemouth defender could be a good inclusion. Although Chelsea sit mid-table on the ticker, they don’t face a red fixture up until the World Cup unlimited transfers. Reece James (£6m) can be seen as one of the most dangerous defenders in the game. His distribution and goal threat ability can be unmatched at times.

As well as James, the cheap Wesley Fofana (£4.4m) could also be considered. Fofana is another player that could be benched at times.

Man City are statistically one of the best defensive sides in the league and for that reason Joao Cancelo (£7.2m) comfortably makes the team. The Portuguese defender is both the most owned and the second highest scoring player in his position.

Amongst defenders Tottenham’s Ivan Perisic (£5.6m) has one of the best expected goal involvements in the league. Spurs also face some of the worst attacking sides in the division so the potential for clean sheets is there too.

Midfielders

Although West Ham rank seventh on the fixture ticker, they play against some of the worst defences in the league up until Gameweek 16. After a slow start to the season, Jarrod Bowen (£8.1m) could be finally kicking on. His 14 points in Gameweek 9 are a reminder of his true potential. Leicester’s James Maddison (£8.1m) also makes the side. The midfielder’s lust for shooting and his huge 18-point haul in Gameweek 9 are big factors in his inclusion.

Gabriel Martinelli (£6.6m) has a price-tag that cannot be ignored. Arsenal stand top of the Premier League. A huge contributor towards that is the Brazilian. Martinelli has now managed five returns in his last eight matches. Arsenal blank in Gameweek 12. However, due to the strong squad depth he can benched until he faces the likes of Nottingham Forest and Southampton.

Crystal Palace are top of the fixture ticker. This indicates investing in them could be beneficial. Midfielder Wilfried Zaha (£7.3m) could be seen as the best attacking player they have. We also have to factor in he takes the penalties.

Fulham also have some good fixtures ahead. Andreas Pereira (£4.6m) comes in at a very appealing price. Starting every match and in an attacking position only bolsters the appeal of the budget enabler. Andreas will likely sit as an unused substitute. However, will likely be called upon in Gameweek 12 when the Man City and Arsenal assets blank.

Forwards

Erling Haaland (£12.1m) should be viewed as essential. His stats and goal threat are unmatched by any player in the league and for that reason, could also be considered as a permanent captaincy option. The Man City striker does not have a fixture in Gameweek 12. However, due to the squad depth can comfortably be benched until Gameweek 13.

Harry Kane (£11.4m) currently sits as the second highest scoring player in FPL. His ability to return points, even if his team aren’t performing well is too hard to ignore. Kane has now managed a return in seven of the eight matches he has played.

Bournemouth rank second on the season ticker for having some of the easiest fixtures in the league. Dominic Solanke (£5.7m) hits one of the cheapest price-tags for an asset who is nailed, taking the teams penalties and the focal point of the attack. He can also be benched. He has no high expectations but showed his potential to haul in Gameweek 6.
