Best players against their Gameweek 7 opposition

We take a look at some of the best players against their Gameweek 7 opposition. Using previous head-to-head records and underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout members area to help us pick out some great FPL picks for the round ahead.

Picking out the best players against their Gameweek 7 opposition could be helpful in making both transfer and captaincy decisions. The more information FPL managers have the better our decisions tend to be in terms of having successful assets in our fantasy teams.

Mason Mount v Fulham

£7.6m Chelsea midfielder has a fantastic record against newly promoted clubs. In his last 11 matches against newly promoted clubs Mason Mount has managed seven returns in his 11 matches against them. Those returns consist of five goals and three assists, as we can see below.

Specifically, against Fulham, the Chelsea man has also collected 17 points in his two matches against them. Mount will be looking to put his slow start to the season behind him against Fulham in Gameweek 7.

Jamie Vardy v Aston Villa

£9.3m striker Jamie Vardy has really struggled to maintain any kind of attacking consistency this season. With just two assists, if fit, Vardy will be looking to improve on that in a game against Aston Villa. The Leicester forward has played nine matches against Villa, in that same period Vardy has picked up a return in five of them.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

The Liverpool defender has struggled to keep as many clean sheets as the FPL community expected this season. With key players returning, that could likely change. Liverpool face Wolves in Gameweek 7 and the £7.5m defender has a fantastic previous record against them.

In his last seven matches against Wolves Trent has hit returns in five of them. These returns include three assists and four clean sheets.

Robertson v Wolves

Staying with the Liverpool defence, £6.8m Robertson has struggled even more than team-mate Trent this season. The Scotsman has already taken a £0.2m price drop due to his poor FPL form. With the bulk of his owners selling, could he come back to haunt them?

Robertson bettered Trent in his previous matches against Wolves. In the eight matches played against them Robertson incredibly managed, a return in seven of them.

Son v Man City

£11.7m Spurs midfielder Son has massively under-performed in terms of his usual high standard. The Tottenham premium has only one attacking return in his first six matches which could be seen as a shock to many.

Many teams and assets struggle to gain any momentum against the English league holders Man City. In Son’s last 12 matches against his Gameweek 7 opponents he returned in half of them. Those returns include three double-digit hauls in his last three matches.
