Gameweek 4 best record against opposition
We take a look at gameweek 4 best record against opposition. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we check out players who have played well against their opponents historically. Gameweek 4 will be our focus as the round ahead edges closer.
With gameweek 4 coming thick and fast it could be handy for FPL managers to know which players perform well against particular opponents. This could be an added factor when making transfers or even our captaincy decision.
Salah v Bournemouth
Salah will very likely have a great record against most of his previous opponents but Bournemouth look like one of his favourites to play against. The Liverpool man has managed a return in every single previous match against the Cherries.
With a head to head average of 11 points per match and a total of 67 points against Bournemouth Salah looks set for a big gameweek 4. With captaincy wide open this season it could be a good idea to stick with the ever consistent Egyptian this week.
James Maddison v Chelsea
It could be difficult to have a good record against the Blues because their defence tends to be very good in terms of underlying stats and clean sheets. However its the in form £8m midfielder Maddison that could be exempt from that.
In the seven matches Maddison played against Chelsea where he played more than 60 minutes he managed four returns. Meaning he returned in more matches than he didn’t against the Blues. Hitting 10 points in his last matchup against his gameweek 4 opponent and in great form those with the foxes man could do well to hold him in their fantasy teams for the upcoming gameweek.
Kevin De Bruyne v Crystal Palace
Although it seems like there’s plenty of blanks there Kevin De Bruyne has returned in his previous 13 matches against Crystal Palace. With seven assists and two goals against them he totals nine attacking returns in the same 13 head to heads.
In great from already and three back to back returns so far this season Kevin De Bruyne could be continuing that run in gameweek 4.
Bruno Fernandes v Southampton
Man United are really struggling to gain any momentum this season already. After a string of bad results it could be Bruno Fernandes that turns the tide in their favour in gameweek 4. The midfielder has already took a £0.2m drop in price due to poor form but could that change against Southamton?
The Portuguese attacker returned four assists and two goals against his upcoming opponent in the previous five matches against them. Meaning Bruno hit more attacking returns against the Saints than matches played.
Robertson v Bournemouth
The £6.9m Liverpool defender has already took a price drop due to his performances in FPL and Liverpool’s failure to keep a clean sheet in the first two gameweeks. We can see that his head to head record is as phenomenal as his team mate Salah.
Robertson has returned in all of his previous matchups against Bournemouth so far in the Premier League. With an impressive six returns in six matches consisting of four assists and five clean sheets the Scotsman could be worth holding at least until after gameweek 4.
