Fantasy5 Picks GW31: Approval for attacking defenders Cash and Reguilon

Pick five Premier League players to beat their Fantasy5 ‘points target’ and you could win a prize of up to £10,000.

We love alternative challenges at Fantasy Football Community, so we really enjoy the Fantasy5 game. It’s a free-to-play challenge, where each week you select a player from five matches who you back to beat their designated ‘points target’. It follows the exact same scoring system as FPL but without bonus points.

Get all five correct and you get a split of the £10,000 jackpot prize. Full terms and conditions are here.

In the meantime, we attempt to suggest five successful picks.

Gameweek 31 Fantasy5 picks

  • Leeds v Southampton
  • Wolves v Aston Villa
  • Man United v Leicester
  • West Ham v Everton
  • Tottenham v Newcastle

Deadline is 15:00 (GMT) on Saturday 2 April.

It feels a long time ago but our Gameweek 30 selection did not succeed. There were four matches in the big blank so Fantasy5 had to borrow Everton v Newcastle from Gameweek 29 to reach five. Then, seven players overcame their points target.

Jack Harrison bagged a goal in Leeds’ dramatic turnaround win at Wolves and has a reasonable 6.5 target versus Southampton. The season-ending injury to Patrick Bamford likely ensures Harrison’s spot in their team.

It’s hard to know where to look for Wolves v Aston Villa. The hosts were on their way to a third successive clean sheet before Raul Jimenez’s red card, whilst Villa have kept three from five matches. Therefore, in a likely low-scoring encounter, at least Matty Cash (6.5) will have space to exploit behind Wolves’ left wing-back. He needs no invite to get forward, having delivered two goals, two assists and 43 points during the three matches of Gameweeks 27 and 28.

As always, Harvey Barnes (6.5) is backed. He has a lower points target than James Maddison and always looks an attacking threat when playing. Leicester will be confident of getting something from their trip to Man United.

Perhaps it’s risky to select Richarlison (6.5), considering the forward hasn’t scored in eight matches. But Everton desperately need more wins to follow their late victory of Gameweek 29.

The final pick is a result of the high targets assigned to Kane (9.5), Son (10.5) and Dejan Kulusevski (8.5) for Tottenham’s match with Newcastle. Whilst a lot of FPL attention has been afforded to wing-back Matt Doherty (8.5), the 7.5 of Sergio Reguilon looks likely to provide a clean sheet and – as he gets forward so often – a good chance of an attacking return.
