GW24 Transfers In/Out: Digne leads the way as Chelsea assets ditched for blanks

As of Monday morning, these are the most bought and sold FPL players heading into Gameweek 24.

The numbers are low, considering it’s been over two weeks since the previous deadline but the lack of action, combined with uncertainties over AFCON, Double Gameweek announcements and late January transfers, has many managers still calculating a way to navigate upcoming weeks.

Lucas Digne‘s (£5.1m) 12-point return against former club Everton feels like forever ago but he’s still the most-bought player as Aston Villa get set to face Leeds (H), Newcastle (a), Watford (H) and Southampton (H) amongst their next five matches. He and Matty Cash are depended on for width in Steven Gerrard’s line-up, so expect both to often be far up the pitch. Team mate Philippe Coutinho (£7.0m) is third most-tranferred.

The ownership of Jarrod Bowen (£6.9m) has heavily escalated over the past four Gameweeks. After continuing his great form with three assists at Watford, his place in 724k teams is now 2.65 million. Only Mohamed Salah has more midfielder points and Bowen ranks fourth of all players, as 18 goal involvements from his last 19 league games was added to with a late extra winner over Kidderminster in the FA Cup. Watford (H), Leicester (a) and Newcastle (H) are up next.

Odsonne Edouard: Former Celtic striker ready to be unleashed in Crystal Palace's derby clash | The Scotsman

Odsonne Edouard (£6.5m) is a sneaky name to follow. The Crystal Palace striker has found the form which might finally cement him as number one striker ahead of Christian Benteke, having started all seven games since Gameweek 16 and delivering three goals, four assists and an expected goals (xG) score only beaten by Harry Kane. There is a dearth of interesting forward options right now and Edouard has the form and fixtures to solve that.

The confusion over Mohamed Salah‘s (£12.7m) status explains his presence in both the most-bought and most-sold lists, as we await Jurgen Klopp’s next quotes. In less than two weeks, Salah’s Egypt have went to extra time on four occasions – even though he’ll turn up on Merseyside before the victorious Sadio Mane, his chance of appearing against Leicester looks slim.

Emmanuel Dennis (£6.2m) has been sold by over 227k managers, with over 40% of teams having to stomach the red card against Norwich that robbed him of a Double Gameweek. The rest of the main sales are Chelsea assets, as they miss the next two Gameweeks because of the Club World Cup.
