Defenders

One hot position for transfers right now is among defenders, with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to miss a significant number of games. Ben Chilwell tops the list of replacements given his recent form in a solid Chelsea defence, and he looks to have regained fitness from his back issue.

Huge gains and falls in overall rank can be had by getting a good blend of differentials and it’s a topic studied by All About FPL in this latest Twitter thread. All of the FPL GW9 Differential Picks have an ownership of under 10%, with plenty having good fixtures on the horizon.

Chips

Finally, it’s important for us fantasy managers to look to the long-term when it comes to utilising our fantasy chips and it’s something that guru Ben Crellin constantly monitors. The big hurdle to overcome soon is the Blank GW18 and Double GW19 which could be confirmed soon.

We'll find out which teams will have a Blank in GW18 and a DGW in GW19 when the January TV fixtures are announced.

The Dec & Jan TV fixtures are normally announced together.
