Who is the best FPL captain for Gameweek 34?

The Gameweek deadline is near but there is still much community debate regarding the FPL captain. So here is some content to help you decide.

FPL captain

Even though time is running out to submit your Gameweek 34 teams, the FPL community is still split over captaincy.

So, using some of the great FPL captaincy content that’s out there, here are the leading candidates.

Mohamed Salah

By his usual standards, Salah had been out-of-form. Just when people started to notice, he scored twice in a 19-point haul against Man United. Never doubt Mo Salah.

A home meeting against struggling Everton is a prime opportunity for the Egyptian King to haul again. In fact, the Merseyside derby was fruitful for him in Gameweek 14, due to two goals and 15 points.

Mason Mount

Apart from Salah, all the captaincy chat seems to involve Chelsea. Their Double Gameweek 34 pits the Blues against West Ham (H) and Man United (a) – for many, the main questions are how many and which one to captain?

Mount tends to play more minutes than Kai Havertz and has recently brought in 19 points versus Southampton. In all competitions, his last ten matches have seen five goals and seven assists.

Mount also tops the Fantasy Football Scout poll, as of Friday morning.

Kai Havertz

Meanwhile, Chelsea team mate Havertz has out-of-position potential by often playing up front, with six goals and an assist from his last nine starts.

He almost doubles Mount for expected goal involvement (xGI) and penalty area touches over their last six outings. Yet the German international has recently had his minutes managed. A substitute on Wednesday night and he was taken off at half-time at Southampton. Does this mean he’s had his rest? Or that he’s in a rotation?
