Note: All teams are subject to change
Notes
- It is a bit of a tough week to lock in early with so few teams having anything significant to play for, alongside a plethora of injuries.
- My moves are likely to be: – Castellanos to Icardi with Gala needing a result vs Copenhagen to qualify for the knockouts. Also, Haaland to Evanilson given Porto are also in a similar spot needing a result.
- Captaincy will likely be Icardi/Kane day 1 (maybe Saka if a confirmed start in the early ko) – Evanilson or Hernandez for day 2.
Notes
- This is probably going to be trickiest MD to navigate given rotation and injuries and given I only have two FTs to play around with makes it even harder.
- I currently have the likes of Haaland, Thiaw and Marusic who are out injured so priority will be to wait as late as possible to make transfers.
- It’s important to have several scenarios planned to help adapt to the various permutations.
- Some players I will be looking at are Openda, Gimenez, Ziyech, Sane, Di Lorenzo and Osimhen.
- Captaincy for Day 1 will be between Saka, Jude and Kane.
Notes
- I plan to use my limitless wildcard this week due to how my team is looking and looking to add more madness to the madness!
- I am aiming to target the players who have stuff to play for and are less likely to be rotated.
- Kane will probably come back into my team once I get more news and predicted line-ups.
- No one is 100% in my team except Bellingham and Mbappe.
Notes
- This is probably the most difficult Matchday of the group stages, since most of the already qualified teams will probably rotate in order to keep a fresh squad for their respective leagues.
- Of the teams who have already assured first place, I’m confident Foden, Lewis and Trossard start, while I’m more concerned with the chances of key assets Bellingham, Kane and Cancelo (I might decide to take a -4 if one of the former two misses out given their status as premiums).
- My transfers out are pretty much forced due to injury news. – Thiaw -> Natan/Juan Jesus: Napoli need a home draw against Braga in order to qualify to the knockout stage, and I needed some cash to upgrade my next transfer.
- As much as I would love to see Braga and my boy Rodrigo Zalazar advance, trusting Napoli to get the job done feels like the sensible thing to do. Natan will probably play at LB, but costs 0.1 more than Juan Jesus which could be crucial in deciding who to get next.
- Barrenetxea -> Elyounoussi/Xavi Simons: having to sell a 4.5m asset feels like a waste of a transfer, but I feel like I have no choice unless I want to have one less option. The Norwegian winger feels like an exciting differential punt, he’s playing at home in what could be a high scoring game and in which Copenhagen will need at least one point in order to pull off a shock qualification. Xavi Simons is already qualified, and might be rotated, but can be reached with an extra 0.1m and he feels like a more reliable option hosting Young Boys.
