In this article we take a look at the UCL Fantasy best captain for Matchday 4 using stats, team and player form and any other factors that can help us. We also take a look at some differential and alternative captaincy options for those looking to gain an edge over the masses.
Looking at the UCL Fantasy best captain for Matchday 4 is absolutely crucial for managers. Captaincy is one of the most important factors in the game which can help towards overall rank, chip strategy and transfers.
Best Tuesday Captain
Manchester City play on the Tuesday in an 8pm (UK time) kick-off. Unfortunately we do not get the line-ups before the deadline so we will be relying on rumours and hear-say to see who will start the game.
In terms of form the current European Champions are in the middle of a great period. Since three losses in a recent four-match period the English side have won all of their four matches on the bounce. During that same period they also netted a huge 14 goals.
In the Champions League Manchester City have won all of their games 3-1. The results are great from an investment point of view but it’s the fact they’re averaging three goals scored per game which makes their attackers even more appealing for the captaincy armband.
Young Boys lay ahead for the reigning Champions. The Swiss side may be dominant in their domestic league but so far they’ve lost two of their three UCL games and conceded at least two goals in all three. It’s also worth noting that Manchester City play at home where they are considerably stronger.
The best captaincy option for Tuesday is Erling Haaland (€11.5m). The Norwegian has racked up seven goals and one assist in his last six matches for club and country which signals a return to his usual relentless form. Haaland did however pick up a small injury in his most recent PL match. If fit, there can be no doubts that he is the UCL Fantasy best captain for Matchday 4. If we hear rumours that his injury will rule him out then it’s and easy switch to fellow striker Julian Alvarez (€7.3m). In 120 minutes of Champions League football so far the Argentine has produced 20 UCL Fantasy points for his three goals and one assist.
Tuesday differential captaincy
Tuesday offers a great opportunity to anyone looking to gain rank. Because we have another chance on the Wednesday UCL managers can take a risk and give the armband to a player who they would not necessarily trust usually but still has big potential.
There are plenty of options on the Tuesday night. Some of them play for Leipzig. The German side face another encounter with Crvena Zvezda this week. The same side they dismantled 3-1 in Matchday 3. One player heavily involved in their win was midfielder Xavi Simons (€6.5m). The Dutchman has picked up four goal contributions in his last four matches – two of those came on Matchday 3. Another great option could be full-back David Raum (€4.5m). Raum has already registered seven attacking returns this season in all competitions. However, he also has the chance to collect a clean sheet which gives him haul potential. It’s also worth remembering that Raum bagged a huge 13-point haul in Matchday 3. Those points came from his goal, seven ball recoveries and player of the match award.
Another great differential option could be striker Alvaro Morata (€7.6m). He has picked up three goals in his last two matches. His side Atletico play at home this week as Celtic visit after conceding two in all of their Champions League games so far.
Best Wednesday captain
Wednesday is the day that UCL Fantasy managers look for a more safer option if their captain blanked on the Tuesday.
Bayern come into their Matchday 4 game in serious form. In their last 10 matches in all competitions the German side won a huge eight. In that same period they also averaged an incredible 3.7 goals scored per game. They have also averaged three goals scored per game in the Champions league.
It’s another match against Galatasaray next. The Turkish League Champions may be very capable offensively. However, they have also conceded at least two goals in all of their UCL matches so far.
Leading the ruthless Bayern frontline is none other than Harry Kane (€10m). Kane has already settled into life in Germany exceptionally well – scoring a huge 15 goals and registering five assists in the Bundesliga. He also bagged two goals and two assists in his three Champions league matches. Staying with Bayern midfielder Leroy Sane (€9.1m) could be another brilliant alternative. The German has produced 16 goal contributions for club and country since the start of the season. He is also known within the UCL Fantasy community as ‘Mr UCL Fantasy’ during the Group Stages due to his exceptional previous campaigns.
Wednesday differential captaincy
For those looking to go different on the Wednesday then Real Madrid could be a team to do that with. The Spanish side will be hoping to extend their top Champions League form with a fourth consecutive win against Braga this week.
Braga have impressed offensively so far. However, they have conceded at least two goals in all three of their UCL games so far. Its also worth highlighting that Braga aren’t even dominating in their own domestic league as they sit eight points off first place.
The standout Real Madrid attacker is of course midfielder Jude Bellingham (€7.8m). He is currently the highest owned player in the game due to his relentless consistency – bagging a huge 32 points in his first three matches and averaging over 10 points per game. The English international has also amassed a whopping 19 goal contributions for club and country this season.
The Braga backline could bring even more potential for the Real Madrid attackers. Another fantastic option could be forward Vinicius Junior (€11m). The Brazilian seems to thrive in the Champions league and we saw that last season where he bagged seven goals and five assists in just 12 matches.
