After another exciting campaign it could be a beneficial for managers to see the UCL Fantasy 22/23 top picks. Whilst the season is over many managers could be looking to shortlist some players for the new season ahead.

Vinicius Junior

Real Madrid had a fantastic campaign and it took Champions League winners Manchester City to stop them in the semi-finals. Their standout asset was Brazilian Vinicius Junior. The midfielder managed a whopping 93 points making him the highest scoring player in UCL Fantasy this season.

Vinicius Junior bagged seven goals and five assists in just 12 Champions League matches. He also collected two player of the match awards which contributed towards his total. The Real Madrid stars biggest haul of the campaign came in Matchday 7 against Liverpool where he scored two goals, registered an assist and picked up the player of the match award.

Alessandro Bastoni

Inter made it all of the way to the final and although they were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City the Italian side were brilliant. It took some heroic individual performances to get to where they did and one of the standouts came via centre-back Alessandro Bastoni.

Bastoni finished the campaign as the second highest scoring player which was exceptional considering he he missed a match. The centre-back produced three assists and five clean sheets whilst also racking up a huge 44 ball recoveries and one player of the match award. UCL managers could be placing Bastoni on their shortlists ahead of the new season.

Ruben Dias

Manchester City claimed their first ever Champions League title this campaign and one of the players who stood tall throughout their season was centre-back Ruben Dias. Dias sits as the third highest scoring UCL Fantasy player this time around. This meant that two centre-backs made the top three highest scoring players of the campaign.

Dias also missed out on one of Manchester City’s 12 Champions League game. He notched up one goal and seven clean sheets helping him reach 75 points which was one less than second place Bastoni. Topping up his points tally was also a massive 61 ball recoveries.

Erling Haaland

Manchester City’s Champions League win would not have been possible without goals and Erling Haaland supplied exactly that. The striker was the only player in his position to make the top five highest scoring players this season with his 71 points.

Haaland failed to play two of the 13 matches Manchester City played but still racked up 12 goals and one assist. His biggest haul of the campaign came against Leipzig in Matchday 8 where he hit a monstrous 25 points for his five goals and player of the match award. Haaland’s haul will go down in UCL Fantasy as one of the biggest ever produced.

Mohamed Salah

Liverpool made it to the Round of 16 until they were well beaten by Real Madrid. That means that the Reds played just eight games in the Champions League. Taking that into account and the fact he failed to start another Mohamed Salah making it into the top five highest scoring players is no easy feat.

The Liverpool midfielder was one of the best assets in the game until his sides exit. He accumulated 70 points scoring eight goals and creating two assists. The Egyptian managed a huge five double-digit returns in a row between Matchday 3 and 7. Salah’s biggest haul of the campaign was 16 points where he played just 22 minutes of the game scoring a hattrick.

Unfortunately, Liverpool failed to make qualification for the 23/24 Champions League season so managers will not be able to select him in their UCL Fantasy teams.
