Danilo – Juventus
Surprisingly, it’s a defender who has scored the most points in Serie A fantasy this season. It is none other than ex Man City and Real Madrid player Danilo who tops the overall points charts with 308 points. He helped Juventus keep 20 clean sheets throughout the season. Danilo also had six goal contributions, with three goals and three assists in his campaign.
Danilo further amassed 156 tackles/blocks/interceptions in the season which was the highest in the league. This contributed to 42 extra points because in Serie A Fantasy, you get one point for every three tackles/blocks/interceptions. Lastly, Danilo was the only player to cross the 300 points mark in Serie A Fantasy this season.
Ivan Provedel – Lazio
Another surprising name on this list is Lazio’s goalkeeper Ivan Provedel. He ended up with the second highest points scored in Serie A Fantasy this season with 291 points. Lazio have kept the most clean sheets this season with 21 shutouts in 38 games and Provedel played a major part in this.
Provedel has a save percentage of 76,9% which is the highest in Serie A and also boasts the most goals prevented stat (-3.3). This shows his consistent performances throughout the season. This season Provedel earned165 points with 43 points from clean sheets kept and shots saved respectively which was 100 in total in the whole season.
Victor Osimhen – Napoli
Moving to the attacking side of things, no points for guessing who scored the most points for forwards in Serie A Fantasy this season. None other than Scudetto winning Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. He bagged 26 goals and clinched the coveted Capocannoniere award as well.
Osimhen finished with 255 points. Of which, 128 points came from the 24 goals from open play and two penalties. Not surprisingly, he also finished with the most goal contributions of 30 goals and assists, the highest overall xG of 21.4 and most shots per 90 mins (4.7). It’s fair to say that if he stays at Napoli next season, he should be one of the first names in your Serie A Fantasy teams.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – Napoli
Arguably, one of the most talked about names in Serie A this season, Kvaratskhelia has taken not just the league but the whole of Europe by storm in his first full season at Napoli. This also showed in fantasy terms as “Kvaradona” finished as highest points scoring midfielder with 258 points. Kvaradona finished the season with the most assists too with 10 and just behind Rafael Leao for big chances created with 14.
Coming in at a price of just €7m in Fantasy, Kvaradona beat the likes of Milinkovic Savic, Berardi and Rafael Leao who were priced much higher than him. His 12 goals and 10 assists put him alongside Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann amongst the only three players to reach double figures in both goals and assists in Europe’s top five leagues.
Honourable mentions – Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Kim Min-Jae – Napoli
Both Di Lorenzo and Kim Min-Jae had absolutely wonderful seasons with Napoli and as a result their side won the Scudetto after 33 years. Both have been the main-stay in defence for Napoli this campaign, keeping 18 clean sheets and conceding the league lowest of just 28 goals in the whole season.
Di Lorenzo and Kim Min-Jae scored 288 and 263 points respectively. This puts them as the second and third highest point scorers in Serie A Fantasy this season after Danilo. Di Lorenzo also contributed with three goals and four assists.
Carlos Augusto – Monza
In fantasy football, I am a huge fan of finding cheap enablers who play week in week out and get the odd points return. Carlos Augusto has been just that and more in Serie A Fantasy this year. Coming in at just €4.4m, Augusto contributed 245 points.
With six goals and five assists, he ranked fourth among defenders for the most fantasy points. Augusto has had 11 double-digit hauls with monster scores like 19, 18 and 18 on three different occasions. Only Danilo has more double-digit hauls with 16 to his name.
Boulaye Dia – Salernitana
Similar to Augusto, Boulaye Dia has been a revelation for Salernitana in attack. He scored 16xG and produced six assists in 33 starts. Dia finished with 192 points at just €5.2m in price. He ended the season as the third highest points scorer in the forwards category. Because of this, definitely deserves a
shoutout in my books.
