Top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 6

The new Championship campaign continues which means the fantasy game does too! Because of this we provide the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 6 with the help of our expert GAFFR manager @TomP_FF.

Looking through the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 6 can be extremely useful for other managers within the Championship Fantasy community. Knowing who the best players to pick are will also help managers make decisions around transfers, captaincy and even chips.

Leif Davis (£5.1m)

Ipswich have a favourable game against joint bottom of the league Sheffield Wednesday. Davis averages 0.8 shots and 3.6 key passes a game, making him a great option. Wednesday have only managed four goals in their five games so far this season, giving Davis clean sheet and not only attacking potential.

Brad Potts (£5.6m)

Preston have started really well so far, and have only conceded three goals in five games. Potts predominantly plays as a RWB and averages 1.2 shots, one key pass and 2.2 successful dribbles which are great baselines for bonus. A favourable home game against Plymouth combined with Potts’s attacking potential makes him an attractive pick for this week.

Gabriel Sara (£7.8m)

Sara is a GAFFR king. He’s averaging five key passes and 2.2 shots a game which are ridiculous stats for bonus. This combined with his attacking returns and a home fixture against Stoke making him a great captain option this week. At his price he’s producing premium returns, along with his floor making him a must own going forward for me.

Jack Clarke (£9.1m)

Clarke has picked up from where he left off last season, scoring two goals in five and looking good for bonus. He’s averaging 2.2 key passes, 2.6 shots and 2.6 dribbles, which similar to Sara are great baselines giving him a floor. I like QPR away as a fixture on paper, and I really like Clarke as a Mavididi replacement for this week and going forward.

Conor Chaplin (£6.5m)

Two goals in five starts so far this season, Chaplin is averaging 5.2 shots and a key pass a game. He faces a poor Wednesday side, albeit away from home. I like Chaplin as a VC/E option due to his consistency combined with that bonus potential due to his shot volumes.

Ashley Barnes (£7.0m)

In Sargent’s absence, I really fancy Barnes to do well. He’s got three goal contributions in five starts, averaging 3.6 shots and 0.6 key passes in that time. Stoke at home seems a nice fixture on paper, and with Sara supplying him I expect Barnes to get chances. At his price he’s a nice third striker option behind the popular Armstrong and Piroe, and could rival Broadhead and Chaplin.

Differentials – Michal Helik (£5.0m)

Helik has already scored once this season, and averages a shot a game from CB. Huddersfield face Rotherham at home which is a favourable fixture this week. Helik looks like a nice differential, given Rotherham haven’t got a point so far at home and again similar to the picks above he’s got some attacking potential.

Aaron Ramsey (£6.5m)

Two goals so far in five starts, Ramsey has started the season well. He’s averaging 1.4 shots and 1.4 key passes a game, and faces a Swansea side who’ve conceded five goals in two away games. I like Ramsey as a 5th mid option going forward, especially as the template allows for a 5th mid given budget constraints.

Brandon Thomas-Asante (£8.1m)

Three goal contributions in four starts, Asante looks like a nice differential for this week. I like Bristol City away as a fixture and Asante has looked great when I’ve seen him play. He’s averaging 1+ in shots, key passes and dribbles, giving him a bonus baseline as well. A nice differential in my opinion.
