The best captain in Gameweek 11

We try and find the best captain in Gameweek 11. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can use the season ticker and underlying stats to find the best captaincy option for the gameweek ahead.

Captaincy is one of the most important decisions a manager can make. Writing up a shortlist of options can be helpful. Picking out the best however, can be even more important for FPL managers.

Fixture ticker

Below we can see teams near the top with the easier fixtures, going all the way down the table to teams with the tougher fixtures. The season ticker can be very helpful. However, won’t always give us the full story on which players make the best captaincy options.

We can also see teams like Wolves and Bournemouth in the top five teams for having the easiest fixtures. However, neither of those teams offer up any consistent assets to rely on for the captaincy.

The options – Erling Haaland

Man City have once again shown why they are favourites to win the Premier League title. Defensively and offensively, they have some of the best stats in the league. They face Liverpool in Gameweek 11. Although tough according to the fixture ticker, Liverpool have kept just two clean sheets all season. The Reds have also conceded three goals back-to-back in the last two Gameweeks.

Amongst all teams in the league Man City are first for chances created, first for goals scored, first for big chances scored, first for attempts on goal and first for big chances totalled. Man City dominate most of the key attacking stats and have proven they are a team to rely on for captaincy this season.

Erling Haaland sits at the top of the pile in FPL. As well as being the highest points returner in the game, he is also the most owned player in the game. Amongst all players in the league, he is first for goals scored, first for total attempts on goal, first for shots in the box and first for big chances total.

Aleksander Mitrovic

Fulham play against fellow newly promoted team Bournemouth in Gameweek 11. Fulham sit around mid-table amongst all teams in the league for offensive stats like for goals scored, attempts in the box and big chances total. However, amongst all teams Bournemouth rank the third worst for goals conceded, the third worst for attempts on target conceded and the second worst for headed attempts conceded.

Alexander Mitrovic (£6.8m) failed to start in Gameweek 10. For that reason, it is vital we await the news from the Fulham press conference. The Serbian has already managed five returns this season and is both the focal point of the Fulham attack and their penalty taker. Amongst all players in the league this season Mitrovic ranks joint second for attempts on goal, third for shots in the box and first for headed attempts on goal.

Harry Kane

Tottenham face a meeting against Everton in Gameweek 12. Amongst all teams in the league, they rank in the top five for goals scored, big chances scored, total attempts on goal, shots in the box and shots on target. Everton, their opponents, rank the worst for shots in the box conceded, the second worst for total attempts conceded and the worst for headed attempts conceded.

Striker Harry Kane (£11.4m) is currently the second highest points returner in the game. In the nine matches he has played; he has returned in every single one of them excluding one. Amongst all players in the league Kane ranks second for goals scored, first for headed goals scored, joint second for total attempts on goal and joint second for big chances total.

Conclusion

Harry Kane could be a fantastic captaincy option this Gameweek. Both his team and his own offensive stats are very impressive. Aleksander Mitrovic could also be another great option. The Serbian sustains impressive offensive stats and plays against one of the worst defences in the league.

However, it could be difficult to back against Erling Haaland. Both his own and his team’s offensive stats are unmatched by any team or player in the league. His relentless FPL form, ownership and opponents’ key injuries, make Haaland the standout captaincy pick for Gameweek 11.
