Serie A Fantasy Round 29 Expert Team Reveal

Here we bring in one of our regular contributors and seasoned managers to provide you with his Serie A Fantasy Round 29 expert team reveal. @FplRossoneri is back to reveal his team and share his plans around transfers and captaincy.

With Serie A Fantasy Round 29 on the horizon it could be hugely beneficial to catch up with our expert. His knowledge and decisions could be extremely enlightening to other fantasy managers and help to bring clarity to some of the choices we have to make in our own teams.

Introduction

Here, I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW.

Now, back to the article, looking at GW28 first, I ended up on 60 points with a GW average of 54 points, It was a small red arrow that took me from 358th to 428th worldwide and still 3rd in Germany after GW28.

Unlike the previous GW, GW29 has some good fixtures with the likes of Bologna, Lazio, Juventus, and Milan having relatively easier opposition.

Round 29 Team Reveal

Goalkeeper

  • Yann Sommer (€5.8m) – Sommer returns between the sticks after getting 10 points in Inter’ narrow 1-0 win over Bologna in GW28. He currently sits atop the list of GKs with the most points after GW28 with 11 double-digit hauls to boast in just 28 GWs. Inter have a tougher fixture playing the in-form Napoli at home in GW29. But, given Inter’ form I still expect them to come away with a win and Sommer getting some good points. He is still only owned by 27.5% of managers and if you are still looking for a solid GK until the end of the season then Sommer is your guy.

Defenders

  • Danilo (€6.6m) – My first defender in GW29 will be Danilo from Juventus. He has averaged almost 8,4 points per GW after his return from a long-term injury in GW15. Juventus did not keep a clean sheet yet again drawing 2-2 to Atalanta in GW28. However, they are set to play Genoa at home and would want to shut up shop and win no matter what if they want to pursue Inter in the Scudetto race, which looks to be over as Milan have now overtaken them in the League standings.
  • Gleison Bremer (€5.8m) – My second defender in GW29 will be Bremer from Juventus. He currently still sits at the top of the defenders list with the most points. Juventus still have some amazing fixtures coming up and Bremer could bring in a lot of points during this period. As mentioned before, Juventus will look to try and get a clean sheet as they have not managed that in the last four games now which is very unlike them.
  • Theo Hernandez (€7m) – One of my favourite players to watch in Serie A is Theo for the explosiveness and unpredictability he brings to the pitch. He was my transfer in the last GW given a great home fixture vs Empoli and as expected Milan ended up keeping a clean sheet. At the moment Theo only has four goals and three assists this season but he’s again coming into form from the last few seasons. He is a viable captaincy option as well along with other Milan players when they head up to Verona in GW29.
  • Stefan Posch (€4.6m) – My fourth defender will be Stefan Posch who was one of the transfer-ins a few weeks ago given he had a double GW and he did not disappoint getting 20 points. Posch showed some of his form from last season grabbing an assist and keeping two CS in DGW24. Bologna have a great fixture in GW29 playing Empoli, thus I do expect a good points return from him.
  • Raoul Bellanova (€5.2m) – And last but not least, my fifth defender this week (yes, I am playing all my defenders in GW29) is going to be Bellanova from Torino. Torino are a side known to be miserly in defence and it shows this season as only three teams have conceded lower goals than them in the league. Bellanova has been somewhat of a revelation for Torino this season getting one goal and five assists so far from the RB/RWB position. I will be expecting more of the same from Bellanova and Torino in GW29 when they face Udinese.

Midfielders

  • Lewis Ferguson (€5.8m) – My first Midfielder this GW is going to be Lewis Ferguson from Bologna who is also my transfer this week as CDK makes way for the Bologna mid. Ferguson is another one of those players who has thrived under Thiago Motta’s tutelage this season getting six goals and three assists so far. As mentioned earlier, Bologna have a great game in GW29 vs Empoli and I am hoping that Ferguson has an instant impact on my Serie A Fantasy team.
  • Felipe Anderson (€9m) – My first transfer last week was Anderson from Lazio who failed in the DGW when his counterpart Alberto scored in both fixtures. Anderson has scored the most points for Lazio this season in fantasy terms getting 160 points so far. He has three goals and six assists this season and looks like one of Lazio’s main sources of creativity in the attacking front. But given his recent form, I can only hope he does not become another CDK in the making.
  • Nico Gonzalez (€6.4m) – One of the most annoying (from a fantasy perspective) yet talented players is Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina. He has seven goals and one assist in just 1420 mins of action. Even though he was taken off at HT in the Roma game, he managed to provide an assist ending GW28 with seven points. Fiorentina have another tough fixture when they face Atalanta away from home but I do expect goals in this game and hopefully, Nico is involved in some capacity.

Forwards

  • Oliver Giroud (€9m) – My first playing forward for GW29 will be Oliver Giroud. He has been great for me since I transferred him in GW17. Giroud now has 12 goals and eight assists in 25 starts for Milan sharing the Talisman duties with Leao and Pulisic. He will want to get on the score sheet again in GW29 when Milan face Verona away from home. He was again rested in the recent Empoli game so I can only assume Giroud’s xMins should be fairly secure now.
  • Lautaro Martinez (€11.8m) – Martinez looks a level above everyone else at the moment in Serie A given he has 23 goals and two assists in just 28 games for Inter. He was rested in the last GW so I think xMins will be safe and given that Inter have exited the Champions League, he should get mins in every game until the end of the season. Lautaro and Inter have another tricky game vs in form Napoli in GW29 but it would not be a surprise if Lautaro came good again.

Captaincy

At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Oliver Giroud for reasons I have mentioned above. Theo Hernandez and Juventus defenders are also in the running for captaincy as things stand.

As usual, I will try to reveal my team on X before the deadline. Make sure you are following me on there @FPLRossoneriNick. Be sure to also follow Fantasy Football Community for all of the latest updates in Serie A Fantasy.
