Introduction
Welcome to my GW7 Team reveal for Serie A Fantasy, Here I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW. At the time of writing this article, GW6 is still ongoing so I am going to skip talking about my current GW scores and ranks.
For GW7, as I have just played my Wildcard in GW6. I am most likely planning to save the transfer in order to get Domenico Berardi in from GW8 onwards, he is on top of my shopping list after yet another great performance against league leaders Inter Milan scoring and assisting for a 14 point haul in GW6.
As always, do mind this is a tentative wildcard team and it is subject to some changes based on
injury and team news.
Round 7 team reveal (subject to change)
Goalkeeper
- Lorenzo Montipo (€4.6m) – I got Montipo on my Wildcard as Verona have looked pretty solid at the back and he has kept two clean sheets and made 22 saves. Montipo and Verona will be up against Torino in GW7 which if we go by several previous meetings between the two sides always ends up as a low-scoring affair which could bode well for Montipo.
Defenders
- Federico Dimarco (€6m) – He has one goal and three assists in just five GWs and he looks set to continue his rich vein of form. Inter plays a struggling Salernitana side and it looks like a great fixture for Dimarco on paper.
- Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.4m) – The most expensive defender in the game just had to come into my team at some point. Di Lorenzo already has one goal and two assists in six GWs and if Napoli have to turn the tide in terms of form, he is going to play a big role.
- Theo Hernandez (€6.8m) – Hernandez has finally made it into my team although I am a bit disappointed that he did not get any returns at Cagliari and the cheaper option in the Milan defence Tomori got a goal. Theo will look to redeem himself when Lazio comes to San Siro in GW7 against whom he scored one of the most outrageous solo goals I have ever when Milan beat Lazio 2-0 at home.
Midfielders
- Giacomo Bonaventura (€6.0m) – The ex-Milan player has found a new lease of life at Fiorentina and seems to always be in the right place at the right time. He has slowly cemented his position in Italiano’s side and given his recent performances of three goals and two assists in six starts, he can be a great mid priced option at just 6m playing in a very attacking Fiorentina side known for scoring goals. Bonaventura will look to be in the goals again when a struggling Cagliari comes to visit in GW7.
- Federico Chiesa (€8.6m) – I am so glad to see Chiesa back to his best at Juventus, everyone who saw him sparkle at Fiorentina knew he was a special talent and now after an injury-laden year he is finally showing why Juventus was willing to pay a lot of money to get him to Turin. Chiesa has had a great start to the season scoring four goals and coming up with the winning goal more often than not playing in the ST position alongside Dusan Vlahovic. He has four double-digit hauls in six GWs and he was also another big factor in me using my WC.
- Morten Frendrup (€4.4m) – Morten Frendrup came into my wildcard team as a budget enabler in midfield but there was another reason, he ranks second among midfielders for] TBI (tackles/blocks/interceptions) with 29 in six game weeks, and given some of my other defenders have tough away fixtures, Frendrup comes into the 11 for GW7.
- Andrea Colpani (€4.8m) – I personally think Colpani is one of the best budget enablers in Serie A Fantasy this season. At just 4.8m price he already has three goals in six starts in a good Monza team and I expect him to carry on with his form in the coming GWs.
Forwards
- Romelu Lukaku (€9m) – At the time of writing this article, Roma are 1-2 behind Genoa with no goals from Lukaku yet who was a bit of a controversial pick for me but I am going to stick with my gut for now and back him as a fantasy pick when Roma take on Frosinone at home in GW7. My captaincy is currently on him but that could easily change closer to the deadline.
- Lautaro Martinez (€11m) – Martinez stayed in my WC team but was disappointed with no contribution at all in the recently concluded GW6 game vs. Sassuolo which Inter ended up losing. He plays Salernitana next whom he has a great record against so I expect him to do well in GW7.
- Victor Osimhen (€12m) – Osimhen ended up staying in my wildcard in a very late decision and it panned out alright as I captained him and he got 18 points in GW6 vs. Udinese at home to break his no-goal streak of four games. Napoli have shown some form again and he should again be in the points when they take on Lecce in GW7. He should also be in the captaincy conversation.
Captaincy
Captaincy – At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Lukaku for reasons I have mentioned above, Lautaro Martinez and Victor Osimhen are also in the running for captaincy.
As per usual, I will try and let everyone know on Twitter before the deadline so make sure you are following me on there @FPLRossoneriNick
