Highest owned picks in FPL so far

The new Fantasy Premier League season is edging closer and managers have been scrambling to get as many top picks into their teams as possible. We check out the in-game ownership of some of the players and pick out the highest owned players in FPL so far.

Ownership has become one of the most important factors when deciding on the selection of assets. Because of this looking at the highest owned picks in FPL so far can be really helpful when it comes to making our drafts ready for the new campaign.

Erling Haaland – 86.3%

This comes as no surprise but Manchester City striker Erling Haaland (£14m) is the highest owned player in the FPL so far. With a massive 86.3% ownership the Norwegian racked up more points than any other player in the game last season. This was mainly due to the 36 goals and eight assists he created.

Bukayo Saka – 53%

The second highest owned player in the game so far is Bukayo Saka (£8.5m). The Arsenal midfielder ranked sixth for overall points last season (202) – scoring 14 goals and producing an impressive 11 assists. They start the season ranked first on the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker so there is no major surprise he sits second.

Pervis Estupinan – 51%

Pervis Estupinan (£5m) is the third highest owned player in the game with 51% whilst also sitting as the highest owned defender in the game. Brighton sustained some of the best defensive stats in the league last season and Estupinan was their most attacking defender in terms of non-penalty expected goal involvement.

Marcus Rashford – 43%

Marcus Rashford (£9m) is the fourth highest owned player in the game ahead of the season. The Manchester United midfielder was the fifth highest scoring player in the game last season with 205 points – he managed 17 goals and five assists.

Kaoru Mitoma – 37.5%

The fifth highest owned player in the game so far is Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) with 37.5%. Brighton had more shots on target than any other team in the division last season so many have selected their standout attacker. There was a period during last season where the Japanese international managed eight returns in a 10-match period.

Who else makes the top 10?

  • Kieran Trippier – 34.6% (£6.5m) – The Newcastle full-back was the highest scoring defender in the game last season but starts the new campaign with tough fixtures.
  • Luke Shaw – 32.9% (£5.5m) – Manchester United kept more clean sheets than any other team in the division last season and the left-back became one of their most reliable assets in terms of minutes.
  • Gabriel Jesus – 32.1% (£8m) – The Brazilian leads the Arsenal offensive line – they maintained some of the best attacking data in the league last campaign.
  • Alphonse Areola – 30.5% (£4m) – The West Ham goalkeeper could be the only £4m playing goalkeeper in the game this season if he can fight for the number one spot.
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold – 30.3% (£8m) – Liverpool also sustained some of the best attacking stats in the league last campaign and Trent has been playing in a midfielder role which boosts his appeal in the game.
