Safe Spine: Spurs (vs Cardiff)

Spurs have the easiest fixture on paper this weekend, with 14 goals and a couple of clean sheets getting their campaign underway. They come off the back of consecutive wins to face a Cardiff side yet to win in the Premier League, scoring just 4 goals and conceding 16. Gameweek 8 Spine Harry Kane provides the ideal captain pick for our Gameweek 8 daily fantasy picks: he’s scored 3 goals in his last 2 games, and has penalties in his locker to boost his output. With the Spurs attack depleted, Lucas Moura will be the back up striker for Kane, looking to improve on the 3 goals and 1 assist that he’s already acquired this season. He managed 2 shots last time out. In defence, it’s full backs Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier who are looking for attacking returns to go alongside a probable clean sheet. Rose has back to back assists, winning an important penalty last weekend. Trippier has 1 goal and 3 assists this season, with 5 attempted assists across the last two games.

Goals Galore: Liverpool vs Manchester City

Judging by last seasons Champions League and Premier League clashes, goals are inevitable in this fixture. The two deadliest attacks in the Premier League have 36 goals between them. Their usually tight defences have struggled in big European games this season, and are likely to be undone again here. Gameweek 8 Goals For Manchester City, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva are both in form. Sterling has returned in 4 consecutive Premier League games, with 4 goals and 2 assists this season. He managed two shots on target last weekend and 4 attempted assists. Silva has scored both of his goals away from home, amassing 12 attempted assists across the last 3 games. Liverpool will be looking to Mohammed Salah and James Milner to boost their attacking threat. Salah has scored in each of the home fixtures this season, with 10 shots and 5 on target in his last 3 games. Milner has penalty duties, which could influence his output: he has 1 goal and 2 assists this season, providing a pivotal role in the heart of the Liverpool midfield.

Clean Sheet Stack: Burnley (vs Huddersfield)

A clean sheet looks likely for Burnley this weekend, as they host a Huddersfield side who have scored just 3 goals this season. Burnley will be looking to improve on the 2 clean sheets that they have kept to date. Gameweek 8 Stack Joe Hart is the main man between the sticks, he’s found a new lease of life at Burnley, leading the save charts across Premier League keepers with 35. Burnley will be hoping that James Tarkowski is fit this weekend to partner Ben Mee at centre back. They have two goals and an assist between them this season, with Starting 11’s scoring system including clearances and tackles boosting their total scores.
