Gameweek 7 best wildcard

We look at the Gameweek 7 best wildcard team. Using the Fantasy Football Scout season ticker we can see which teams have the best run of fixtures. This can then aid FPL managers in picking out some of the best assets for the run ahead.

The wildcard gives managers the opportunity to change their entire team for any reason. Managers activate their wildcards for several reasons. Whether that be to target fixture swings or just change their team up, the wildcard can be precious to your planning.

Fixture ticker

Who has the best fixtures?

Aston Villa, Burnley, Luton, Tottenham and Liverpool all rank amongst the top five teams with the easiest fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Chelsea, Manchester City, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Brighton all rank amongst the bottom five teams with the easiest fixtures.

Gameweek 7 best wildcard

Goalkeepers

  • Alphonse Areola (£4.2m) – Areola has cemented himself as the number one goalkeeper at West Ham. The Hammers have some good long-term fixtures and maintain some solid defensive stats which could suggest the clean sheets will come.
  • Matt Turner (£4m) – Not only is Turner a good back up option to Areola but their fixtures rotate very well. Turner would replace Areola in starting line-up against not so favourable fixtures.

Defenders

  • Issa Kabore (£4m) – Luton have a great double Gameweek up next against Everton and Burnley. With that and the fact they play with a back three system, Kabore could be a good cheap option long-term. He also picked up an assist in his latest match.
  • Fabian Schar (£5m) – Newcastle have some great fixtures from a defensive point of view. Their defender with the biggest goal threat is Schar who managed more attempts on goal than any other defender last campaign.
  • Pervis Estupinan (£5.3m) – Brighton are yet to keep a clean sheet this season but Estupinan offers massive potential offensively. The full-back has already managed four attacking returns this season. Estupinan can be rotated to the bench during extremely tough fixtures.
  • Sven Botman (£4.7m) – Three clean sheets on the bounce in all competitions suggests the double up on the Newcastle defence a wise move long-term. Botman will come in handy when other assets have tougher matchups.
  • Destiny Udogie (£4.8m) – Tottenham have some of the best fixtures in the league coming up after Liverpool this week. Udogie has already racked up four returns in his first six matches – half of those returns were assists.

Midfielders

  • Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) – Liverpool’ schedule indicates that bringing in their star man could be a priority. The Egyptian penalty taker has managed to return in every single game he has played in so far. Salah could even also become an alternative captaincy choice ahead.
  • Moussa Diaby (£6.6m) – Finding a nicely priced midfielder to help enable the team could be tough but Diaby stands out as that player. His side rank at the top of the ticker until Gameweek 12 – playing some of the weakest defensive units in the division. Diaby has also collected three returns in his first six games.
  • Son Heung-min (£9.2m) – Tottenham are one of the most in-form sides in the league so far. Son leads his offensive line and has managed a whopping 36 points in his last three matches due to his five goals.
  • Jarrod Bowen (£7.1m) – West Ham face the worst defence in the league next up and their standout attacker Bowen could have massive potential. There is money in the bank to upgrade Bowen to Maddison when the fixtures swing after this week for both.
  • Bryan Mbeumo (£6.9m) – It could be very difficult to leave out Mbeumo. Brentford have shown they can score goals against any team regardless of fixtures. Mbeumo also rotates exceptionally well with Diaby if needed as well as taking penalties for his side and having more big chances total than any other midfielder in the game.

Forwards

  • Erling Haaland (£14.1m) – Manchester City have proved they will not be slowing down this season after winning all of their matches. The standout attacker in the entire game is Haaland who has already collected a huge eight goals so far. He is also the standout captaincy option for the weeks ahead.
  • Carlton Morris (£5.5m) – The Luton double Gameweek means investing in their attack could be beneficial, especially when considering they face Burnley and Everton. Morris takes his sides penalties which is a bonus as he also leads the attack. He also bagged nine points in his latest match against Wolves.
  • Cameron Archer (£4.5m) – The Sheffield United stirker helps to enable the rest of the squad with his price-tag. He will rarely feature unless his fixture and form are too hard to resist.
