Gameweek 3 who passed the eye test?

We answer the question Gameweek 3 who passed the eye test? Without using stats we’ll see if we can identify some key FPL assets that looked impressive in their third fixture of the season. With a focus on Saturdays matches that were shown live on Sky Sports and BT Sports on the weekend.

Underlying stats will always be very useful for FPL managers in their chase for success. However eye test has always been a huge factor when looking at potential FPL assets to bring into our fantasy teams.

Perisic

Ivan Perisic looked back to full fitness against Wolves in gameweek 3. At the time of writing the £5.4m defender has been selected in 17% of teams and that could be on the rise after his performance. Perisic created a lot of problems for the Wolves defence and created chances for his team.

The Spurs man managed pinpoint crosses and was rewarded for his great overall performance with an assist and bonus points. The wingback finished his gameweek week with a 12 point double digit haul. With Nottingham Forest next he could attract a lot more owners ahead of gameweek 4.

Harry Kane

The £11.4m Spurs striker did everything. From long balls to creating space Kane was everywhere. His two key passes reflect his creator side to his game and his two shots on target emphasise how attacking he is. Overall he was fantastic but more importantly he was there when it mattered.

The forward scored the winning goal which resulted in six points including bonus. After scoring against Chelsea in gameweek 2 FPL managers will feel like it’s only a matter of time before he goes big. With an incredible record against promoted teams he could do exactly that in gameweek 4 against Nottingham Forest.

Odegaard

The £6.4m Arsenal midfielder has faded into the background over the last two gameweeks. That wasn’t the case in gameweek 3. The maestro controlled the pitch like it was his own. His connection to every other Arsenal player seemed unmatched.

The creator turned goal scorer topped off a fantastic performance with a brace and bonus points which lead to a massive 16 points haul. FPL managers will be watching him carefully to look for consistency moving forward.

Gabriel Jesus

Jesus helped his team dismantle Bournemouth. The Brazilian had a quiet game in terms of returns with just an assist. The forward also picked up a yellow card to the annoyance of his owners. However with the performance he showed it could be a matter of time before he goes big again.

The £8.1m forward remains the highest owned player in FPL. This could be easily justified in his points but his consistent showings and his offensive drive are another reason why. With a match up against another promoted side in Fulham next his great performances are likely to be followed by even more points.

Kieffer Moore

Bournemouth really struggled to do anything against Arsenal. One standout performance however was that of Welsh striker and £5.5m Bournemouth player Kieffer Moore. The forward stood tall on many occasions and caused the Arsenal defence some concerns.

Moore’s height and presence meant he was dominant in the oppositions box but failed to convert his performance into FPL points. Facing Liverpool in gameweek 4 could mean FPL managers avoid bringing him in but when easier fixtures come he could get the nod.
