Gameweek 20 Best Free Hit Team

With a new Gameweek upon us we take a look at the free hit chip. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can utilise the season ticker and underlying stats to determine the Gameweek 20 best free hit team.

The free hit chip in FPL allows managers, within the same budget and formational limits, to select a team for one particular Gameweek. Managers can attack any given Gameweek with the free hit whether that be to utilise a good set of fixtures, in-form teams or players or a mixture of it all.

Fixtures

Who has the best fixtures?

Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Wolves all rank at the top with the easiest fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Sheffield United, Newcastle, Fulham, Liverpool and Bournemouth all rank at the bottom with the worst fixtures.

Gameweek 20 Best Free Hit Team

Using the Live FPL website we can use one of its fantastic tools to plan transfers weeks in advance. Not just this, but we can also create team drafts to plan for using a chip. Take a look at the best free hit team for Gameweek 20:

Goalkeepers

Arsenal are the best current defence in the league. They come up against a Fulham side who have failed to score in all three of their last league matches so David Raya (£4.9m) has a great opportunity to pick up a return. In the unlikely event that Raya does not feature Chelsea man Djordje Petrovic (£4.5m) will step in.

Defenders

Manchester City have one of the best chances they will get all season to keep a clean sheet. The league holders play at home against the worst attack in the league up next, Sheffield United. One of the most reliable routes into the Manchester City backline is Kyle Walker (£5.3m).

One exciting addition to the free hit this week could be Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto (£4.1m). Luton may be much better at home but they are still producing some of the worst attacking stats in the division. Gusto has clean sheet potential but he can also be very creative – he has banked two assists already this season with very little gametime.

Pedro Porro (£5.6m) has become one of the most reliable methods of picking up points in FPL recently. This is because the Tottenham man is one of the most attack minded full-backs in the league – racking up four assists in his last seven matches.

On the bench is Arsenal centre-back Gabriel (£5m) and Aston Villa’ Ezri Konsa (£4.6m). Mangers can rotate them into the starting 11 if they choose to.

Midfielders

Chelsea have been maintaining one of the best expected goals in the league this season. The return of Christopher Nkunku from injury means the Blues are expected to cash in more on that which could help penalty taker Cole Palmer (£5.6m).

Aston Villa are one of the highest scoring teams in the league this campaign. They will also be hoping to bounce back this week against a woeful Burnley defence at home. Leon Bailey (£5.6m) has become favoured in the starting line-up. The Jamaican has picked up a return in five of his last 10 matches and enables money elsewhere within the side.

Fulham rank second worst for shots on target conceded in the last six Gameweeks. With that in mind Bukayo Saka (£9m) could be a brilliant pick this week. Not only has Saka bagged five goals and six assists this season but he also takes penalties.

Tottenham have been producing some of the best attacking stats in the league and face one of the worst defences next up overall. Son Heung-Min (£9.9m) has become one of the most explosive assets in the game this season with six double-digit hauls already.

The front three look very convincing this season but for those that disagree then Alejandro Garnacho (£4.7m) could be a great starting pick. He goes into a match against a very poor Nottingham Forest backline off the back of scoring two goals against a tough Aston Villa.

Forwards

If Erling Haaland (£13.9m) is not confirmed fit then we could work to bring Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) back in. However, if fit then Haaland leads the highest scoring team in the league against the worst defence and takes penalties. He could also be the standout captaincy option.

Burnley have conceded the second most goals this season which highlights them as one of the best teams to target. Leading the efficient Aston Villa frontline is Ollie Watkins (£8.8m) who will be hoping to add to his 15 attacking returns this week.

Tottenham sit amongst the worst teams in the league for expected goals conceded in the last six matches. They face a Bournemouth side who have found the net at least twice in all seven of their last league games. Penalty taker Dominic Solanke (£7m) leads the attack and has netted a huge nine goals in his last seven matches.
