The community score predictions panel is back for another season. For the 2022/23 campaign the panel is made up of;
- Reigning Champion – El Statto
- FPL Rabbi
- FPL Shake n Bake
- FBL Thinker
- FPL Talking Points

In these articles we will ask the panel to consider the questions that FPL managers ask themselves ahead of setting up their teams:
- Who will win?
- Will there be a clean sheet in this match?
- How many goals can I see being scored?
- How many players do I want to play in this game?
Our community score predictions panel share their predictions for Gameweek 1 and consider what this might mean for our FPL plans.

Key talking points
The panel are unanamious in their feelings that Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City will win away on the opening day. They also all believe that Tottenham will beat Southampton and Newcastle will triumph over Forest. With the exception of FBL Thinker who is predicting a draw the rest of the panel all expect Man United to beat Brighton.
The panel are predicting 20 clean sheets this week. They all, bar FPL Inzaghi, believe that Liverpool will keep a clean sheet, therefore they could be good for the defensive double up. The panel also believe that there will be a lot of goals on opening weekend. Between them they have predicted 174 goals will be scored. Liverpool are predicted to score the most goals. Spurs are also favoured to be high scoring. Therefore these are potentially attacking teams for FPL managers to target.
FPL Shake n Bake
DO NOT OVERTHINK. Get Mo Salah. He’s got a brilliant opening day record, and plays new promoted Fulham. I know teams can look tempting wthout him, but you’ll be kicking yourself if/when he hauls.
Spurs fixture vs Southampton also looks good for targeting this week. After an encouraging debut in pre-season last week, I’m back aboard the Ivan Perisic hype train
FBL Thinker
At the beginning of the season stick to players from the top clubs. In my opinion avoiding most assets from the promoted teams is a wise move. Mo Salah looks to be the best captaincy shout for Gameweek 1.
