@FPLReaction’ top three picks for FPL Gameweek 7
With the new round edging closer we bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLReaction’ (Louis) to reel off his top three picks for FPL Gameweek 7.
The early rounds are good opportunities to get off to a great start. Here I will give you my top three picks for FPL Gameweek 7 to try and help with that. There are some very obvious options with huge potential for the first round and whilst I will list them, I will also provide you with three different picks who I think could also do well.
The obvious options
- Bukayo Saka (if fit)
- Bryan Mbeumo
- Kaoru Mitoma
- Carlton Morris
- Phil Foden
- Julian Alvarez
- Erling Haaland
- Marcus Rashford
- Bruno Fernandes
- Kieran Trippier
- Fabian Schar
- Sven Botman
Jarrod Bowen
West Ham have actually been pretty impressive on the goal scoring front this season. The Hammers have netted 15 goals in eight matches in all competitions so far – closely averaging towards two goals per game. But their scoring form is not the full reason I’m backing this man this week.
The biggest reason we should invest in West Ham this week is the fact they face Sheffield United. The Blades just took a massive beating from West Ham in their 8-0 loss but they’re also sustaining some of the worst defensive data in the league.
I think Jarrod Bowen (£7.1m) could have a field day this week. Whilst we are yet to see his scintillating form of his 21/22 league campaign, he is well and truly heading in the right direction. So far Bowen has bagged a return in four of his first six league games. Bowen has the perfect opponent at the perfect time so get ready for fire works.
Cole Palmer
Take it from a Chelsea fan, we have been frustrating this season and a lot of FPL managers will probably agree with that. The issue is that the stats are there for Chelsea but the results just aren’t. With that in mind we need something different, something we haven’t really tried that much.
The signing of Cole Palmer (£4.9m) was a big one for the Blues, especially considering they snapped him up from Manchester City long-term. He has made an impact already and has been one of Chelsea’s best players as of late.
I think Palmer’ Cup performance could warrant him a start this week. If he starts, which he should, then he comes up a against a Fulham side whom sit as one of the worst sides in the league for shots in the box conceded and big chances conceded.
Anthony Gordon
Newcastle seem to be picking up form as their fixtures ease. They had a torrid start to the campaign in terms of schedule but things are looking up again after their impressive 22/23 campaign. It makes it easier picking their players after a 8-0 bashing of Sheffield United though right?
Gameweek 7 is another fantastic opportunity to dispatch a promoted team. Burnley have probably looked the most impressive from the promoted teams but only just. That may be but they have still shipped 13 goals in the five league games they have played. For me Burnley are a team to target which leads me to my next pick.
The injury to Harvey Barnes looks like, and I don’t want to say this, a good one for Anthony Gordon, even more so in terms of minutes. It is also worth noting that he’s been electric in the games he has played for Newcastle this season. In terms of output, it’s there and it’ll only improve with steady minutes. I think Gordon could add to the goal and assist he picked up against Sheffield United in the round ahead.
