@FPLReaction’ top three picks for FPL Gameweek 6
With the new round edging closer we bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLReaction’ (Louis) to reel off his top three picks for FPL Gameweek 6.
The early rounds are good opportunities to get off to a great start. Here I will give you my top three picks for FPL Gameweek 6 to try and help with that. There are some very obvious options with huge potential for the first round and whilst I will list them, I will also provide you with three different picks who I think could also do well.
The obvious options
- Bryan Mbeumo
- Kaoru Mitoma
- Eberechi Eze
- Mohamed Salah
- Erling Haaland
- Julian Alvarez
- Bruno Fernandes
- Marcus Rashford
- Kieran Trippier
Callum Wilson
The trend to bring in Newcastle players ahead of their great run of fixtures ahead is well and truly on. But the same trend is predominately defenders with the likes of Sven Botman, Fabian Schar and Kieran Trippier at the top of many managers shopping lists.
That may be the case and fully justified by the way, but their attackers should also be shown a bit of love. I know what you are thinking, the Newcastle strikers are at risk of rotation due to the Champions League and you would be right in thinking that. However, with Alexander Isak starting in midweek I think Callum Wilson has the potential to start against Sheffield United.
Sheffield United are a newly promoted side of course and have shown some fight during their games. However, the Blades are putting up some really poor defensive data. Because of that I think Wilson has huge potential this week. On penalties, against a poor defence and having picked up three returns in his first five matches I think Wilson could go big this week.
Odsonne Edouard
Its been frustrating owning Crystal Palace strikers in the past for an array of different reasons. One of those reasons being that it’s Crystal Palace and they don’t tend to rack up lots of goals. That being said they have started the season well and scored in all but one of their first five matches.
Another reason we don’t like picking Crystal Palace strikers, even with good fixtures, is the fact last season they were heavily rotated. What is clear now though is that Odsonne Edouard is the leader of that line – he has started all of their first five matches.
The third and final reason we don’t pick Crystal Palace strikers is that their just not that good. Well, that has also changed. In fact, Edouard has bagged a return in three of his first five games – including a double-digit return. Starting every game, in-form and up against the worst side in the league for big chances conceded up next offers up a great opportunity for Edouard to continue his run.
Pedro Neto
We all remember the run up to pre-season last campaign right? Everyone, or at least everyone on X felt like Pedro Neto could be a great option with good fixtures. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case even though he was maintaining some good offensive data.
Well this season could be different, or maybe not, who knows but Neto has started this season brilliantly. In the first five matches he’s played he’s managed to return in three. Interestingly all three of those returns have come in his last three matches.
Neto isn’t just returning though because his data is great as well. At the time of writing he’s created more chances in the league than any other player. All of the above is great but the fixture has to be perfect to even consider him right? Well, Wolves face Luton next who without a doubt are one of the worst defences in the league and their data backs that up.
