Gameweek 23: Rising Premier League Stars to Include in your Fantasy Football Team

Every Premier League season sees a new generation of stars capturing the attention of all football fans.

The 2019/20 campaign has been no different with many of the old guard like Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane succumbing to injuries.

All of this means that there are some great bargains to be had when it comes to assembling your next fantasy football side. Fantasy sports is different from the more traditional kind of betting that you’d find at sites listed at a resource like Sportsbetting24. So it pays to put a little effort into monitoring the form of these very promising football players.

Adama Traore – Wolverhampton Wanderers

Is there a Premier League defender who actually knows how to take on Adama Traore? The Wolves forward has been in outstanding form this season, and he’s recently struck terror into the defences of top teams like Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Traore’s pace and power are now well-documented. But for a long time, it seemed as though the Spanish star wouldn’t live up to his potential. However, after spells at Aston Villa and Middlesbrough, it seems that Traore has fit in perfectly at a high-powered Wolves team.

Such is the 23-year old’s potential that he’s already been linked with bigger Premier League sides like Spurs, and some NFL teams have even approached him. All of which means that Gameweek 23 is the perfect time to add Traore to your fantasy football line-up.

Todd Cantwell – Norwich City

While Teemu Pukki’s goal scoring flourish grabbed the headlines for Norwich at the start of the season, recently it’s been Todd Cantwell who has been getting all of the attention. The 21-year old has shown an excellent amount of creativity in the midfield, and he’s also proven to have a deft goalscoring touch from the edge of the area.

Cantwell has already featured in our Gameweek 22 team, and there’s every indication that his value will increase in the future. With Norwich City looking doomed to be playing Championship football next season, there’s every chance that Cantwell might jump ship before too long.

Already we’ve seen the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham expressing interest in the young star. While James Maddison is being lined up for being England’s future midfielder of choice, it’s not too hard to imagine Cantwell being just behind him.

Gabriel Martinelli – Arsenal

While Mikel Arteta might be easing some concerns at the Emirates, there is little denying the basic fact that it’s been a horrible season for Arsenal. With players like Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka getting booed by fans, and Unai Emery being given the boot, it’s been hard for the Gunners faithful to remain optimistic.

Thankfully, they’ve had Gabriel Martinelli on hand to light up what’s been otherwise a dismal 2019/20 campaign. The 18-year old forward has shown that he can be lightning quick on the ball, and he’s already picked up some important goals for the Gunners.

Martinelli once again revealed himself to be a real live wire in Arsenal’s FA Cup win over Leeds United. So it seems that the young Brazilian could be one of the most exciting players in your fantasy football squad.

Mason Greenwood – Manchester United

Manchester United are another Premier League heavyweight team having a rough time this season. While established players like Jesse Lingard are having a bad time with form, there’s at least some hope thanks to the likes of young stars like Mason Greenwood.

The youngster scored an outrageous goal against Newcastle United, and there’s every indication that he could soon become a regular in the United squad. Whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s there to witness this is another thing entirely.

Michail Antonio – West Ham United

Like Adama Traore, Michail Antonio is another powerful forward who can strike fear in any Premier League defence. Although he has been unlucky to have some unfortunate handball decisions made against him, he has been one of the few saving graces for a beleaguered West Ham team.

The 29-year old commonly plays on the wing, but he’s equally adept at making powerful runs that can cut through an opponent’s defence. Antonio missed much of the first half of the season with a nasty hamstring injury. But if he can stay out of trouble, then the winger would be an excellent and cost-effective addition to just about any fantasy football line-up.

Giovani Lo Celso – Tottenham Hotspur

While many of Tottenham’s summer signings appear to have had some indifferent results on the pitch, Giovani Lo Celso has been impressive with his pace and fluency on the ball. As a result, he’s starting to carve out an increasingly important role on Jose Mourinho’s new-look Spurs team.

With Tanguy Ndombele continuing to be afflicted by long-running injuries, Lo Celso has managed to show that he’s capable of plenty of creativity behind the attack. While the likes of Christian Eriksen have seen their form spiral, the Argentine star continues to be Tottenham’s one promising player in an otherwise indifferent midfield. It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will splash the cash necessary to make Lo Celso’s loan deal from Real Betis a permanent one.

Alireza Jahanbakhsh – Brighton and Hove Albion

Few Premier League players have had such a remarkable change of fortunes as Brighton’s Alireza Jahanbakhsh. The Iranian star spent much of the season on the bench as a result of some horrendous form encountered since signing for the Seagulls the previous season.

But after being reintroduced into Graham Potter’s squad, Jahanbakhsh has scored two incredible and incredibly important goals. The first against Bournemouth gave Brighton some much-needed points in their relegation battle, while his overhead kick against Chelsea is a contender for goal of the season. All of which means that now could be the perfect time to get Alireza Jahanbakhsh in your fantasy football league team.
