My thoughts on the 1st round of games. I'm not going to do recaps every week, but since I ended up watching every single match of #GW1 (it’s the first week back, what do you want from me?!), here are some first #FPL impressions.

Captaincy dominates the conversation once more, with over 7000 votes on the Fantasy Football Pundits poll. It’s no surprise to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the way, but the other three candidates all carry a positive argument. Crucially they are all on penalties.

Many managers are looking to bring in an Everton forward this week, but it’s difficult to split Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison other than on price. The powerful Hub player comparison tool allows us to compare the two on a variety of metrics.

It’s never too early to seek out a differential or two to try and gain an advantage on your rivals. It’s all part of the latest article from FPL Academica, with midfielders from Manchester United and Leicester City taking the headlines for this week.

The Gameweek 2 analysis from Fantasy Football Scout brings a defensive statistic regarding West Ham which could lock in the captaincy for anyone wavering until this point. It’s not the only measure which ought to be considered when deciding transfers this week.
5⃣ chances conceded by West Ham from their right flank v Newcastle – no side allowed more from that zone of the pitch in #GW1. And it's Aubameyang up next…

The bookies odds can be very insightful when it comes to nailing down those selections and captaincy. FPL Salah provides the latest anytime goalscorer odds percentages, and it’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who leads the way from Jamie Vardy.

As always, Ben Dinnery brings us the all-important injury news ahead of the deadline and some of the biggest news comes from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are likely to be missing some key personnel in defence once more, which isn’t ideal before a visit to Old Trafford.
Palace are still without the likes of James Tomkins, Gary Cahill, Nathan Ferguson and Patrick van Aanholt. Nathaniel Clyne is being tested ahead of him joining the group – Monday is likely to be his first day… Any potential deal would depend on the fitness of Ferguson. #CPFC
