FPL Gameweek 13 Top 5 Best Players to Buy on Deadline Day

Last modified date

The new round of Fantasy Premier League is here. For that reason we pick out the FPL Gameweek 13 top 5 players to buy on deadline day. To do this we consider several different factors including player form, statistics and fixture difficulty.

FPL Deadline days can be some of the most stressful and exciting times of the season. Because of that we clear out the noise and pick five players you should be considering in your team ahead of the new round. We’ll avoid players like Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland due to their already high ownership. So, lets dive in!

1. Joao Pedro

Brighton are about to embark on a fantastic run of fixtures, starting with a home match against Southampton. The Saints have been dreadful in regards to defensive statistics, whilst Brighton go into the game having scored two or more goals in five of their last seven matches.

One player gaining a lot of traction ahead of this week is Joao Pedro (£5.6m). As well as enabling budget elsewhere with his cheap price-tag, the Brazilian has also produced back-to-back double-digit hauls in his last two games.

2. Matheus Cunha

Wolves started the season in terrible fashion – failing to win any of their first 10 matches in the league. But, their recent fixture swing seems to have worked wonders, and they go into their next match against an inconsistent Bournemouth having won their last two games on the bounce.

It’s never too late to bring in a player who is in form, and that’s the case for Matheus Cunha (£7m). Cunha continues to dominate distributions metrics amongst all forwards, but he is also a major goal threat. In fact, in his last six games, Cunha has amassed a huge five goals and three assists, making him one of the most in-form players in the division recently.

3. Bukayo Saka

Another side who seem to have turned things around recently is Arsenal. The Gooners were on a winless streak prior to their comfortable Gameweek 12 victory against Nottingham Forest last weekend. Immediately after they sunk them, they then went onto dismantle Sporting CP away from home 5-1, which shows just how confident they are now.

The return of Martin Odegaard has been critical to the Arsenal attack, and one player benefitting from the Norwegian’s return is Bukayo Saka (£10.2m). Bagging a goal and an assist in each of his last two matches, Saka appears to have found his rhythm again, and with West Ham next, there is no reason he can’t continue to perform.

4. Kaoru Mitoma

Brighton’s fixture swing is significant, the Seagulls don’t just clash with Southampton next, they also play Fulham, Leicester, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Brentford after that. Considering their attacking form, it could be a great time to buy into their attack.

Whilst Joao Pedro is arguably the standout pick, many within the community need a midfielder, which is a gap that Kaoru Mitoma (£6.4m) could fill. Although fairly hit and miss this season so far, the fixtures have been tough. But, his goal in the previous match is a good example of his potential when facing poor opposition.

5. Raya Ait Nouri

Defenders have been hugely disappointing in general this season from an FPL perspective. For that reason, spending as little as possible on them could be the way to go. One defender who falls into that bracket is Wolves full-back Rayan Ait Nouri (£4.8m).

Two returns in his last two matches is promising from the Algerian. The fixtures ahead could suggest both he and Wolves have clean sheet potential, but he also offers considerable attacking threat. In fact, already this campaign, Ait-Nouri has produced three goals and an assist, displaying both creativity and goal threat.
